PPP's newest Wisconsin poll finds a big debate bump for Mitt Romney in the state. Two weeks ago he trailed Barack Obama by 7 points there, 52-45. Now he's pulled to within two points, with Obama's lead now just 49-47. There's not much doubt it was Romney's strong debate performance on Wednesday night that's given him this boost. What's more, the drop in the official unemployment rate, if those numbers are to be believed, was driven largely by a big upturn in part-time jobs. Workers who can't find full-time work, or forced to take huge pay cuts to land work, are not signs of forward momentum. And that's why the BLS' broader, but little noticed,measure of the unemployed — which includes discouraged workers and those working part time because they can't find full-time jobs — remained unchanged in September at a gut-wrenching 14.7%.

What a joke! Everyone knows the latest released numbers are crap. It is clear that the household number is based on a survey of 1/2 of 1%. The RNC or PAC should hire a polling agency to conduct their own unemployment survey, publish the numbers and expose the lies from the labor board. Of course no media outlet would run the story, but it would be better to have true numbers out to expose the lies that are happening. Contrary to reports, there is no hyperinflation in Iran right now at all. In fact, the Western sanctions imposed on Iran's oil trade are failing miserably to meet their objectives. And a regime collapse – or even, coming short of that, another popular uprising reminiscent of June 2009 – seems further away from Iran than ever. A Rasmussen post-presidential debate poll in Ohio shows Mitt Romney has pulled ahead of Barack Obama in the battleground state among those who say they are “certain” to vote. The poll shows Romney ahead 51 percent to 48 percent in this critical group.
