A former Republican senator from New Hampshire says Nikki Haley should visit the early-primary state as soon as possible to explore a 2020 challenge against President Trump. “After four years of Donald Trump, America will want a president of sound mind and dignified presidential bearing," former Sen. Gordon Humphrey told the Washington Examiner. Haley announced her resignation as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations on Tuesday. She opposed Trump in 2016, contributing to suspicion about her departure, which will take effect later this year.

A Democratic congressional staffer was arrested Wednesday and accused of posting the personal information of at least one Republican senator during last week's hearing about sexual assault claims against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, authorities said.

Jackson Cosko, who calls himself a “Democratic Political Professional” with cybersecurity expertise, is accused of crimes for allegedly doxing Republican Senators during the Brett Kavanaugh/Christine Blasey Ford hearings. The United States Capitol Police arrested the suspect who allegedly “posted private, identifying information (doxing) about one of more United States Senators to the internet,” a statement said. According to Legistorm, he worked for U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and previously worked for Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA). A September 2018 letter from Sheila Jackson Lee (D -TX) identifies him as a staffer for her office.

Eddie Edwards, of Dover, won a six-way race in Tuesday’s GOP primary for the 1st Congressional District. Edwards is a Navy veteran who also served as a police chief and as chief enforcement officer for the state liquor commission.

A New Hampshire man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly tried to "buy" a young girl and attempted to kidnap her from her family in Massachusetts, police said. Alfred Patterson, 20, of Raymond, approached a 13-year-old girl near Boston's Faneuil Hall just before 5 p.m., the Boston Police Department revealed in a news release. Patterson offered the teen's parents cash to "buy" their daughter, before he allegedly "grabbed" the girl by the arm and tried to drag her away. Police said the girl's father intervened, and Patterson ran from the scene. He was quickly located by police.

St. Paul's School released two reports in 2017 detailing allegations against 17 people who worked there between 1947 and 1999. An addendum released Tuesday includes the names of three additional people who allegedly committed abuse between 1967 and 1988. New Hampshire authorities are investigating a case of criminal mischief at the state library, where a granite block noting President Trump’s 2016 primary win was destroyed early Friday. According to a statement from New Hampshire State Police, a trooper responded at 7:45 a.m. to a report of the vandalism at the library, located near the State House in Concord.
