NEW ORLEANS — All suspects have been arrested in connection to the robbery and beating of two tourists from Boston in the French Quarter. Nicholas Polgowski and Rashaad Piper were booked Wednesday morning into the Orleans Parish jail. This comes as the two other suspects, Dejuan Paul and Joshua Simmons, are currently being held without bail. The four men are being charged with second degree robbery in connection to the beating of two Boston tourists Saturday night on Bienville Street. The principal of an alternative school in New Orleans was asked to leave his post this week after he was pictured standing near a Confederate flag the morning before the city removed a statue of Gen. Robert E. A state representative from Winona who urged in a weekend Facebook post that those who support the removal of Confederate monuments be lynched has apologized. Rep. Using the rubric of racism alone (even though the origins of the Civil War itself are far more complicated), it's pretty obvious that what the left wants is to create a Uniworld of soulless urban habitats with no history to speak of other than what the left deems history – victimology, identity politics for favored special interest groups, as well as the glorification of totalitarians. Its intolerance is often noted on college campuses, in the media, and in Hollywood, but it's also there in its efforts to erase and distort history.

It is quite ironic that the liberal Democrat Mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu, is trying to erase uncomfortable parts of the city’s rich history while simultaneously preparing to celebrate the tri-centennial next year. New Orleans officials removed the first of four prominent Confederate monuments early Monday, the latest Southern institution to sever itself from symbols viewed by many as a representation racism and white supremacy. The first memorial to come down was the Liberty Monument, an 1891 obelisk honoring the Crescent City White League. NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans began the process of taking down Confederate statutes early Monday with the removal of the monument to the Battle at Liberty Place. The letters were sent to officials in Chicago, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Miami, Milwaukee, New York City and Sacramento, Calif., as well as Cook County, Ill. These municipalities were identified in a Justice Department inspector general’s report last year as potentially out of compliance with the requirements. Friday’s letter asks the cities to send documentation that they are in compliance by the end of June.

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A driver plowed into a crowd of Endymion revelers Saturday, injuring several people. The crash happened at about 6:45 p.m. at the corner of Orleans and N. Carrollton avenues. Police said initial reports show so far about a dozen people are in critical condition. That number could rise, police said. One person was arrested,according to FOX 8 reporter Rob Krieger.
