  • Blue State Blues: ‘Insurrection’ Is OK, as Long As It’s by the Left

    Breitbart ^ | 01/05/2024 | JOEL B. POLLAK
This week, there was an “insurrection” in the California State Capitol in Sacramento. A group of radical extremists invaded the State Assembly, interrupting the first day of the legislative session and forcing lawmakers to flee the chamber. They continued to occupy the legislature even after the lights were turned off. But eventually, they were allowed to leave peacefully, and there were no arrests at all. The reason: unlike the January 6 protesters in Washington, the California protesters are on the political left.

Hundreds of Pro-Palestinian protesters converged on the US Capitol complex Wednesday, demanding a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Capitol Police, which tightened security in advance of the protests said an unspecified amount of demonstrators were arrested, including at least three on charges of assaulting a police officer. Emotions were tense as the largely progressive crowd felt betrayed by President Biden and other leading Democrats for backing Israel’s bid to eliminate the terrorist threat in the Gaza Strip. “I think the White House and everyone thinks we’re just gonna sit back and let this just continue to happen. No!” Rep. Rashida...

Norman Finkelstein, an American author and political scientist, says Israel is aiming to expel Palestinians from the northern sector of Gaza and declare a new security zone there. He described the Israeli operation in Gaza as “somewhere between a crime against humanity and genocide under international law”, and said the nuclear-armed state’s goal appears to be “to ethnically cleanse the northern sector of Gaza and declare it Israel’s new security zone”. He added that “the cutting off of water, food and fuel to a civilian population, when keeping in mind Netanyahu’s claim that this situation will go on for a...

Muslims in Ireland will hold a demonstration in Dublin to protest the violence inspired by terror group Islamic State. Three Irish people were gunned down in Tunisia by an ISIS fanatic while they were on vacation there. The “Not in Our Name” protest will take place at O’Connell Street on Sunday, July 26, reports the Irish Examiner. However, the leader of Ireland’s biggest mosque in Clonskeagh, Dublin, has refused to take part. Dr. Ali Salem, head of the Islamic Cultural Center of Ireland, which is part of the mosque, stated the organization had never been consulted. “If the biggest Islamic...

Remember "Not in Our Name" -- the group that protested the war, saying that Pres. Bush was acting "not in our name"? Conservatives should establish "Not in Our Name, Part II" -- and every time Zero or one of his goons proclaims that the US is at fault for the world's problems, or that Americans need to give up their sovereignty, or any other liberal moonbattery -- a NION-2 spokesperson could take to the airwaves and radiowaves, saying that Zero "does not speak for us."

The third anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq was marked over the weekend by a wave of protests around the world. Most of the marches in America were spearheaded by United for Peace and Justice, the nation’s largest anti-war coalition. United for Peace and Justice is a large umbrella association of more than thirteen hundred local and national groups who have joined together to protest the immoral and disastrous Iraq War and oppose our government’s policy of permanent warfare and empire-building. The organization’s recent press release tells us of a massive effort planned for the week of March 15...

The ANSWER Coalition has joined with many other organizations to form the April 8: Hands Off Venezuela and Cuba Coalition. We are urging progressive organizations and local organizing/transportation centers that have brought antiwar demonstrators to Washington, DC in...
