Sarah Palin’s “Earthquake” © 2011 by Anthony James A little less than three years ago American conservatives received a devastating gut blow when Barack Obama was elected president. Although the mainstream media had not done any of their usual in-depth vetting of this largely unknown candidate, there were nonetheless millions of Americans who had availed themselves of the information digging properties on the Internet, who knew very well who this man was, who his radical past associations were, and who knew without being told what he meant when he said, “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United...

She sobbed in recounting a fictitious gang rape, only to tell more lies as she admitted she'd made it up. She lied about her whereabouts after the so-called attack, only to tell new lies after promising to come clean. And when confronted about these layers of lies upon lies, Dominique Strauss-Kahn's hotel-maid sex-accuser collapsed in a roll-on-the-floor tantrum. "But I wasn't under oath!" she told prosecutors. Manhattan prosecutors yesterday filed a 25-page document asking that the charges be dropped in the Strauss-Kahn case -- a document that literally labels the horndog Frenchman's accuser a liar and a fraud. "In virtually...

Media: Talk about the elite lagging behind a more sophisticated public. Newsweek, trying to overcome its slide into obscurity, thought it could grab attention by smearing Tea Party favorite Michele Bachmann. Big mistake. The smear came in the form of this week's cover story, which tried unconvincingly to depict GOP presidential candidate and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann as "The Queen of Rage," with a cover shot that made her look maniacal. But if anything, Bachmann comes across as Thatcheresque in her unmovable opposition to more deficit spending. Question her opposition a journalist may do, but don't make it out as...

Rep. Michele Bachmann has declined to get into the scrum with Newsweek over its cover story of the presidential candidate called "The Queen of Rage," accompanied by an unflattering photo of the Minnesota Republican, but others are calling the magazine out-of-bounds in its depiction. The National Organization for Women President Terry O'Neill said that the cover of the magazine's latest edition is "sexist" and referred to a simple test by the group's founder Gloria Steinem to explain how they determined that conclusion -- would the magazine do the same to a man. "Who has ever called a man 'The King...

One of presidential candidate Michele Bachmann’s major political opponents is defending her against what it says is blatant sexism on the part of Newsweek magazine. Monday, the National Organization for Women (NOW) spoke out against Newsweek’s most recent cover, which features an extreme close-up of Michele Bachmann and the title “The Queen of Rage.” “It’s sexist,” NOW president Terry O’Neill told TheDC. “Casting her in that expression and then adding ‘The Queen of Rage’ I think [it is]. Gloria Steinem has a very simple test: If this were done to a man or would it ever be done to a...

NOW Mum on Obama’s Calling Congresswoman ‘Cute’ Friday, June 17, 2011 By Fred Lucas (CNSNews.com) – Conservative women’s groups saw a double standard regarding President Barack Obama using terms such as “cute” to describe Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, but said they are not offended. However, National Organization of Women did not weigh in on the matter. NOW President Terry O’Neill did not have time to comment on the matter, NOW spokeswoman Latoya Veal said. Veal attempted to schedule time for O’Neill to talk about the matter with CNSNews.com for three days, but said...

I apologize in advance if my writing the words that were said on HBO offends anyone, but this has to be said. NOW Communications Director, Lisa Bennet scolds Bill Maher because of his latest comment about Sarah Palin, calling her a "dumb twat." "Listen, supposedly progressive men (ok, and women, too): Cut the crap! Stop degrading women with whom you disagree and/or don't like by using female body terms or other gender-associated slurs. OK? Can you do that, please?" Yes. C'mon fellas, now I asked you to stop, don't make me count to three. Way to Say it sister!! Of...

Good grief, I would’ve had more respect for the National Organization for Women (not a high bar) had they just said nothing. Via Caroline May at The Daily Caller: In the wake of Bill Maher’s tasteless slur against Sarah Palin Friday night, in which he called the former Alaska governor a “tw@t,” the National Organization for Woman (NOW) has not only denounced the use of such sexist words, but also issued a warning to conservatives who they believe are attempting to use the issue to discredit their organization: “We are on to you, right-wingers.” Listen, supposedly progressive men (ok, and...

Bill Maher uttered a female vulgarism when referring to former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin on his HBO show Friday night. “Did you hear this – Sarah Palin finally heard what happened in Japan and she’s demanding that we invade ‘Tsunami,’” Maher said. “I mean she said, ‘These ‘Tsunamians’ will not get away with this.’ Oh speaking of dumb tw**s, did you...” Maher was offering an imagined Palin response in an apparent attempt at humor, as Palin had made no such statement.

The National Organization for Women issued a statement from president Terry O'Neill Wednesday with a clearly anti-religion message. The headline: "U.S. Catholic Bishops Major Force Behind War on Women." It began: The collusion of House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has led to an open declaration of war on the women of this country. The bishops have long sought to enshrine into law those policies of the Catholic Church that subordinate women. And they don't care how badly women get hurt in the process. In the last election, the bishops helped to elect legislators that...

This is a critical moment in the nation’s battle to dig itself out of debt and free itself from the iron grip of public union monopolies. As you know from reading this blog, the Wisconsin showdown has been a long time coming. I remind you that there are many brave workers exposing the corruption and costs of compulsory unionism. Today’s syndicated column gives an overview of the Big Labor battle in Wisconsin — now spreading to Ohio and Indiana, where the DNC/OFA are organizing the community of grievance-mongers kicking and screaming against overdue reforms. Like someone famous always says: Change...

Jared Loughner is a disgusting person. He murdered six people in cold blood, including a little girl and a federal judge. He shot a member of Congress in the head, before continuing to wildly shoot into a crowd of innocent people. He must be condemned and rejected. The National Organization for Women (NOW for short) has a different approach. Instead of condemning Loughner outright, they are using his senseless acts as political hay, equating conservatives to his hateful rampage and blaming the deaths of innocent people on figures like Sarah Palin. The very same day that Loughner unleashed a barrage...

Women's Rights Must Be Guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution We won't stand for sexists like Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia interpreting women's rights as unprotected in the U.S. Constitution. In a recent interview, Scalia erroneously stated that women are not protected under the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause. Right now, five justices have the power to pick and choose when women should be considered full citizens. And that's not right. We need to add an Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution that will guarantee women and men equal status under the law. I stand with NOW today to demand that...

The latest Latma satire video takes on none other than the far-left organization Peace Now. The video shows “Yariv Googleheimer”, a take on Peace Now chairman Yariv Oppenheimer, describing what his organization does to make sure that no new Jewish homes are built in Judea and Samaria. Showing with pride some of the areas in which his organization has managed to halt Jewish construction, “Googleheimer” speaks proudly about seeing the hills “so bare, without a single hut or building.”

The National Organization for Women filed complaints against local Hooters restaurants Thursday, but not for exploiting its scantily clad waitresses by subjecting them to leering and groping customers. The subject this time was Hooters' catering to children. The restaurants in San Francisco, San Bruno, Sacramento and Orange County are classified as "adult entertainment" establishments but also serve minors, NOW's California chapter said in papers filed with police and prosecutors. What's more, the organization said, Hooters provides child menus, high chairs and booster seats, and sells T-shirts in children's sizes that identify the wearer as a "Future Hooters Girl."

The video offers a rare glimpse of the type of punishment inflicted on women who break the country's strict morality code. The victim was punished under Sharia law for wearing trousers under her Islamic clothing. The footage shows her crawling on the ground, raising her arm to try to ward off the attacks and screaming as the whip strikes. The public punishment sparked protests among females against laws they said humiliated women. Dozens of them were arrested. The governor of Khartoum said there had been a mistake in the way the victim's punishment had been carried out. Sky's foreign affairs...

“The Now and Not Yet of God’s Baptized Saints” (Matthew 5:1-12; 1 John 3:1-3; Revelation 7:9-17)On this day when we have a baptism in our midst and we commemorate the faithful departed from our midst, on this All Saints’ Day observed, I want to talk to you briefly about “The Now and Not Yet of God’s Baptized Saints.” We’ll be looking at aspects of this theme from all three of our lessons today. First, when I say, “God’s baptized saints,” I’m talking about us. You and I are God’s baptized saints, the people he has made his own in Holy...
