The laws signed by Adolf Hitler taking away the citizenship of German Jews before the Holocaust were placed on rare public display Wednesday at the National Archives. The Nuremberg Laws were turned over to the archives in August by The Huntington, a museum complex near Los Angeles where they were quietly deposited by Gen. George Patton at the end of World War II. The papers will be on display in a separate gallery from the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence through Oct. 18.

Eugenics … death of the defenceless The legacy of Darwin’s cousin Galton By Russell Grigg Few ideas have done more harm to the human race in the last 120 years than those of Sir Francis Galton. He founded the evolutionary pseudo-science of eugenics. Today, ethnic cleansing, the use of abortion to eliminate ‘defective’ unborn babies, infanticide, euthanasia, and the harvesting of unborn babies for research purposes all have a common foundation in the survival-of-the-fittest theory of eugenics. So who was Galton, what is eugenics, and how has it harmed humanity?...

The Arab fabrications and spinning is now in overdrive, as the terrorist-associated media has article after article each with more ridiculous claims than the one before. Paltoday describes scenes of dead women and children, of course killed with "phosphorus bombs," being eaten by dogs in the streets of Gaza camps. Many terror-supporting doctors are throwing in their expertise in these claims, such as one who said that "white phosphorus kills brain cells" which explains why otherwise lightly injured children are dying. Another "eyewitness" describes how the IDF poured gasoline on his body and threatened to light him up. Of course,...

The Democrats have begun beating the drums for Nuremberg style trials for members of the Bush administration. Accusing them of war crimes, the Left is anxious to see Bush, Cheney, Yoo, Rove and other members of the administration in the dock. We don’t know if execution is their objective, but you can be sure that it isn’t exoneration. A poster MarkField at the Volokh Conspiracy has suggested a way of pulling this off: As one who strongly favors prosecution, I think your sense of the public reaction is very likely correct. For that reason, I think it's important to begin...

He told CNN's Wolf Blitzer, "We have various options. The Nuremberg Trials are certainly an example of the kind of tribunal that we could move forward with. I don't think we'd have any difficulty in devising an international -- internationally supported mechanism that would mete out justice. There's no problem there." McCain said it would be a "good thing to reveal to the world the enormity of this guy's crimes, and his intentions, which are still there."

Barack Obama's campaign is considering moving his nomination acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention from the Pepsi Center convention hall to Invesco Field at Mile High to accommodate the uncredentialed masses, sources say. The move would mark a major departure from tradition, but would be in keeping with the candidate's desire to build a large grass-roots campaign focused on "change." It also would leave behind the multi-million-dollar broadcast studios, media offices and high-tech podium and stage to be constructed at the Pepsi Center.

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration has instructed U.S. diplomats abroad to defend its decision to seek the death penalty for six Guantanamo Bay detainees accused in the Sept. 11 terror attacks by recalling the executions of Nazi war criminals after World War II. A four-page cable sent to U.S. embassies and obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press says that execution as punishment for extreme violations of the laws of war is internationally accepted and points to the 1945-46 International Military Tribunals as an example. Twelve of Adolf Hitler's senior aides were sentenced to death at the trials in Nuremberg, Germany,...

Sep 10 02:11 PM US/Eastern By RON FOURNIER Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON (AP) - As a prosecutor at Nuremberg, Thomas Dodd charged the Nazis with "the apprehension of victims and their confinement without trial, often without charges, generally with no indication of their detention." His son, Sen. Chris Dodd, wonders today whether he did enough to stop the United States from violating that same rule of law in the war on terror. "For six decades, we learned the lessons of the Nuremberg men and women well," the Democratic presidential candidate writes in his book, "Letters from Nuremberg: My Father's Narrative...

BERLIN (Reuters) - A naked American tourist raised eyebrows when he went for a walk through a German city and told police he thought this was acceptable behavior in Germany. "We have been having unusually hot weather here lately but, all the same, we can't have this," a spokesman for police in the southern city of Nuremberg said Tuesday. "The man said he thought walking around naked was tolerated in Germany." Many Germans enjoy nude sunbathing which is allowed in public parks. The 41-year-old was carrying his clothes in a bag when police stopped him Monday evening after complaints from...

AN Australian-born RAF doctor has cited the Nuremberg war trials in today's court martial over his refusal to serve in Iraq. Flight-Lieutenant Malcolm Kendall-Smith, 37, was also accused by the judge of grandstanding at today's trial in Aldershot where he is facing five charges of refusing a lawful order. Lt Kendall-Smith refused a call-up in June and July of 2005, arguing the incursion in Iraq by UK forces was illegal and he would be legally complicit with potential war crimes if he served in Iraq. He cited World War II's Nuremberg trials which ruled that the defence of 'just following...

Der Spiegel interview with Nuremberg Prosecutor on 60th aniversary of the start of Nuremberg War Crimes Trial: ...I am totally convinced that Adolf Hitler was only a name that symbolized the absolute and worldwide breakdown of morality in the 20th century. It started in 1914 with World War I when everyone killed everyone and no moral standards remained. Revenge was the order of the day and any excuse was permissible. And afterwards? What did the communists do in Russia? And the Japanese in China? ...

Nuremberg, Germany - Sixty years ago on November 20, 1945 the Nuremberg War Crimes Trial against 21 leading Nazis, including Hermann Goering, Rudolf Hess, and Joachim von Ribbentrop, began in Room 600 of the city's spacious Palace of Justice. Almost a year later, on September 30 and on October 1 1946 the court announced its verdicts. A dozen of Hitler's closest cohorts were sentenced to death by hanging, seven were given life sentences or lesser terms, and three were acquitted. Before the war even ended the U.S., the Soviet Union and Britain had already agreed to punish those responsible for...

60 YEARS AFTER NUREMBERG How the Nazi Trials Helped Spawn Modern Justice The idea of achieving peace through justice rose out of the ruins of Germany 60 years ago and made its way around the world. In Nuremberg, the Nazi elite were made to answer for their crimes. The trials also ushered in an era of modern international law. The new center of international criminal law stands on the outskirts of The Hague, already visible as one approaches from the motorway-- a striped cube, slammed down between white office blocks. It's the central nervous system of the International Criminal Court,...

On the surface there would seem to be little to unite the Aryan racialists of the neo-Nazi movement with the terrorists of radical Islam. To the neo-Nazis, Muslims are almost all members of ``inferior`` races; and to the Islamic terrorists, the neo-Nazis are almost without exception either atheists or members of fringe quasi-Christian sects. But the reality is that there has been close cooperation between Muslim extremists and Fascists ever since the founding of the Nazi movement in the 1920`s. For all of their differences, Muslim extremists and Nazis have always been united by a common group of beliefs and...

The tyrant's capture has triggered a predictable chorus from those who have consistently subordinated the interests of Iraq, and other things, to their agenda for aggrandizing international institutions. They say an international tribunal should have a role - perhaps the role - in the trial of Saddam Hussein. So it is timely to recall the Nuremberg anomaly.

BOSTON -- Harvard Law School is planning to put more than a million documents from the Nuremberg trials on the Internet, allowing ready access to records of hearings into the war crimes of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich. The multimillion-dollar project is the most ambitious effort to date to post Nuremberg documents on the Internet, said Harry Martin, a Harvard Law professor and head librarian at the Cambridge-based school. He said the materials would be useful to legal scholars and would provide a stark reminder of the horrors of the Holocaust. "I think there is a tendency in some parts to...
