VIDEOBill Mitchell's big grift is apparently over. His Ron DeSantis money well has apparently dried up leaving poor Shill Bill not only broke but severely constipated as well. As an excuse for pulling out of the DeSantis shill racket, Shill Bill recently claimed he conveniently stubbed his toe while watching a football game which sent him to the hospital. Which is more ridiculous? Getting hospitalized for a stubbed toe or for having an ingrown toenail? While in the hospital, Mitchell whined that shilling for DeSantis sent him to the poorhouse with a horrible case of constipation to boot. His GiveSendGrift...

The Silver Star Families of America, the SSFOA, is well aware of the dangers of opioids in all their various forms and, for the most part, agrees with the new federal and state guidelines that are tightening up the distribution of the drugs as long as it does not adversely affect the veteran population. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/65/rr/rr6501e1.htm

The opioid crisis affects thousands of Americans daily; companies like Walmart work to curb addiction at their pharmacies by blocking questionable prescriptions. However, in a federal lawsuit filed by the company on Thursday, Walmart leaders said federal agencies are asking them for too much, trying to require them to second-guess doctors’ orders on entire categories of prescriptions. “It’s disturbing that this is the turn it’s taken,” said Dr. Joseph Sbarra, a local physician at Sickbay on Highway 77. News 13 interviewed him earlier this year when he said he’d had several patients say certain pharmacists were limiting their prescriptions that...

Gets paid to hook them, then paid again to UNhook them..?! Richard Sackler, whose family owns Purdue Pharma, the company behind the notorious painkiller OxyContin, was granted a patent earlier this year for a reformulation of a drug used to wean addicts off opioids. The invention is a novel form of buprenorphine, a mild opiate that controls drug cravings, which is often given as a substitute to people hooked on heroin or opioid painkillers such as OxyContin. A professor at Occidental College who is well-known for calling for the “abolition” of college fraternities recently noted that “black fraternities” should be an exception. Lisa Wade, a sociology professor at Occidental College, argued in May that fraternities should be abolished because they “hoard power” for “wealthy white men,” and because of the dangerous party culture they promote.

New stats show alarming rise in drug abuse, HIV/AIDS infections ATLANTA — Fulton County’s rate of opioid overdose deaths was more than double the national average in 2014, newly released figures show. And the county — which contains most of the city of Atlanta as well as some of Georgia’s most affluent suburbs — had a higher rate of HIV diagnoses than all but one of 28 large cities studied, according to statistics released last week by the Big Cities Health Coalition project. Fulton’s data were used because the county, not the city, collects the area’s health information, which is...

A 9/11 memorial at Occidental College in Eagle Rock was vandalized, members of the College Republican Club said. About 3,000 flags meant to represent victims of the terrorist attacks that adorned the campus quad were found “crushed, snapped” and thrown in the garbage early Monday, according to a Facebook post by the club. “Not one was left in the ground,” the post said. “Not only did they destroy the memorial, they put posters and fliers up that shamed the victims of 9/11.” The flier read “R.I.P. The 2,996 Americans who died in 9/11. R.I.P. the 1,455,590 innocent Iraqis who died...

A student is suing Occidental College in Los Angeles for expelling him after a female student allegedly sent text messages indicating she had wanted to have sex, arranged for a rendezvous, then one week later accused him of sexual assault. The case is the latest to follow the Obama administration’s new effort to crack down on campus rape. The plaintiff, who filed anonymously as John Doe, said the female student texted him asking if he had a condom, informed a friend she was “goingtohave ‘sex” (sic) and coordinated a route to his dorm. Police investigated and decided not to prosecute,...

Barack Obama delivered a statement on the passing of Nelson Mandela yesterday. During his speech he told about his first public speech on apartheid at Occidental College. “I am one of the countless millions who drew inspiration from Nelson Mandela’s life. My very first political action, the first thing I ever did that involved an issue or a policy or politics, was a protest against apartheid. I studied his words and his writings.” But, Barack Obama forgot to mention that his speech at Occidental was sponsored by Marxists and Weatherman terrorists. Barack Obama’s first public speech was at an Occidental...

With his estimated wealth exceeding $200 million, Albert Arnold Gore has come a long way from the time he began a career in government politics. But it hasn’t all been a green path. He can thank some earlier events for paving over muddy ground, a time when his father, Al Gore Sr. met Occidental Petroleum’s CEO Armand Hammer at a cattle auction in the 1940s. When zinc was discovered on some of Gore’s land,

Former Vice President Gore on Tuesday said "there's no such thing as ethical oil," slamming the notion that importing oil from U.S. ally Canada was better than doing so from unfriendly nations. “There’s no such thing as ethical oil. There’s only dirty oil and dirtier oil,” Gore told Canada’s The Globe and Mail during a Tuesday event in Toronto. Gore was responding to Globe and Mail Editor in Chief John Stackhouse on whether it made a difference that oil sands from the proposed Keystone XL pipeline would come from a democratic nation. U.S. backers of the Canada-to-Texas pipeline have pointed...

It may be the biggest insult since salsa made in New York City. Texas, long the nation’s oil capital, could get upstaged by California. That’s right, California. Enron’s prey-ground. Cap-and-trade fantasyland. Home of fossil-fuel-hating, electric-car-driving, green-dreamers. Last week, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management sold 15 leases for about 18,000 acres in California’s Monterey Shale, which stretches 200 miles south from San Francisco. The U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates the shale formation could hold 15.4 billion barrels of oil, which would be double the combined reserves of the Bakken formation in North Dakota and the Eagle Ford shale of South...

Legacy of Boston Tea Party Sullied by Sensationalist Politics By: Chloe Jenkins-Sleczkowski Posted: 2/3/10 The past year has brought on an inreased exposure of tea - not Earl Grey. I am speaking of the Tea Party Movement, the grassroots and conservative-minded (dis-)organization that has been making headlines with its latest shenanigans to reclaim the country for the intellectually lazy. Although some political diversity is a nice change, it does not need to be in the form of griping conservatives who are only making it harder on a president who has more than enough on his plate. The Tea Party...

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed legislation enabling future oil exploration and drilling in Wilmington oil field in Long Beach. Under Bill 2165, California's State Lands Commission can negotiate a contract with the city and Occidental Petroleum Corp. to explore and develop the western end of Wilmington field, which includes tidelands mineral deposits. In the past, California shouldered most costs for previous oil efforts in the tidelands deposits, but Occidental offered to take on that role in exchange for a larger share of the potential revenues—an offer that required the new legislation. Occidental spokesman Richard Kline said the Los Angeles-based...

LONG BEACH - A bill that would allow for additional onshore oil drilling in the Port of Long Beach and could potentially feed the cash-strapped city $130 million over 10 years cleared the state Assembly Sunday and headed to the governor's desk for his signature. Assembly Bill 2165 passed the Assembly with 57-0 vote after a 38-1 vote in the Senate on Saturday. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger can sign or veto the bill or do nothing and allow it to pass. The measure cleared the state Senate Saturday night after an intense lobbying effort by Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster, who...
