If a gathering of about 100 Tea Party leaders in Washington on Monday gives any indication, it’s Representative Michele Bachmann (who just announced her candidacy), with Representative Ron Paul and Gov. Presidential Candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) was in League City today speaking to the North Galveston County Chamber of Commerce. Paul spoke before a packed house in LaBrisa’s large banquet room and then fielded questions from the audience in a town-hall style format. Paul began his speech talking about America’s out of control debt and that we hit the debt ceiling yesterday which drew a smattering of boos from the conservative crowd. Pretend, if you will, that somehow Ron Paul has won the Republican nomination for President. Who on earth would he choose as his running mate? He's such a lone ranger and so out-there with a lot of his views that I can't think of a compatible VP candidate. What say you?

Texas Congressman Ron Paul, now officially seeking the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, says that the raid which killed Osama bin Laden "was absolutely not necessary." In the same radio interview, Paul conjectured that the United States could have convinced Pakistan to turn over bin Laden. The congressman added a bizarre non-sequitur. The Texas congressman announced on "Good Morning America" that he is launching an official campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. As the founding father of a libertarian movement that paved the way for the tea party, Mr. Paul thinks his odds have improved since his last campaign in 2008.
