Please Pray!

FRiends, I'm requesting prayers for a friend of mine from my hometown. Her Son-in- Law was tragically killed in an automobile accident today. They have two young children. Naturally, my friend and her family are devastated. Those poor children, losing their father so close to Christmas. Thanks for the prayers!

My friend (Margaret) has been fighting cancer but has been told she has a few weeks left to live. She has not been a church goer for many years so does not feel comfortable calling a priest in. Please pray she finds peace, trusts in God's mercy, and receives the Sacraments and has a holy death. Thank you and God bless!

TEKAMAH, Neb. — A Tekamah man went missing early Monday morning and family members said they have been searching for him since 9 a.m. Police were notified around 11 a.m. that Rolland Metz, 75, was gone from the Tekamah Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home located near M and 9th streets. FR "Dacula's" wife has been treated for eight years for cancer and in that time there has been good news and bad news and right now they have received some more bad news and he is asking for prayers for Val. As most people know, this wretched disease travels from one part of the body to another so vigilance is always the key. From what I understand she has never lost faith in God or her husband's loyalty to her care.

I am requesting prayers for a dear friend of mine and her ex-husband who lost their only daughter in a car accident Friday night. Their daughter was 27, and she had served our country in the US Navy for 7 years. Her parents are both devastated. Rhiannon was living in Maryland while she working for a military contractor. The accident happened Friday night in Maryland and her mother had to travel up from South Carolina and her father from Tennessee over the weekend to ID her body.

It's always everyone else requesting prayer. Tonight it is me. My 42 yo daughter is having surgery to repair a genetic defect in her sternum. It is buckling and putting pressure on her heart, lung, stomach, esophagus, etc, etc. It is called pectus excavatum. She is in Cleveland Clinic, 300 miles from her children, family & support system. Her DH is with her. They will be cutting her sternum and pulling it back into place and adding titanium plates to hold it there. The standard for doing surgery is a 3.25 measurement. Hers measures 7.2.

My father has been admitted to hospice. His long fight against liver cancer has come to an end. Please pray that the Lord would soften my father's heart to the Gospel and wisdom for me to present it if it's God's will. Thanks brothers and sisters in Christ.

My mother-in-law, Florence, is undergoing emergency heart surgery at this hour. She experienced a heart attack this evening. She has had several in the past. She has been a wonderful mother-in-law! Please pray for her recovery and for the skill of the heart surgeon!

I am copying a Freepmail I got from another person for Farmer Dean. Farmer Dean, an all around good and likable guy, is starting chemo and more radiation for colon cancer today. I asked him if he wanted us to pray for him and he was very thankful and said yes. It is beautiful when Christians realize that prayers from other Christians, regardless of denomination, is a powerful thing. My mom’s been going to Mass for him and he has been so very grateful. Just a good guy whom I pray beats this through and through.

My friend's aging parents are both experiencing rapidly increasing health problems and urgently need healing prayers. Dad(Harold) had surgery on his lower back and slowly recuperating and Mom(Myrna) is struggling with dementia and balance problems that have led to several falls. She is also experiencing a great deal of pain from digestive issues.

She was at a friend's house, visiting for a few days. She has had Alzheimer's for over 6 years. She has not had any health problems other than that, but she is over 80. Today she had the classic symptoms of stroke, paralysis and drooping on one side, slurred speech, confusion, so her friend called paramedics and she is now at a good hospital. MRI has confirmed stroke. All her symptoms have gone, and she doesn't even remember why she is in the hospital or that she had a stroke. The doctors are still running tests. She is being given...

I posted about a year ago asking prayers for my father, who had some back problems, and was facing surgery and long-time therapy. The time since then has been one of struggle for him. He has been in and out of the hospital numerous times, and each time he became weaker. He is now close to the end of his struggle. I got a call last night from the nursing home saying he had been taken to the hospital because he had no pulse. His heart was restarted, but he had two cardiac arrests at the hospital. He is on...

My brother, Michael, passed yesterday after an 8 year long battle with cancer. His wife was at his side when it happened. He was comfortable and in no pain. I'd like to thank all of you who sent your prayers, thoughts, and good wishes to his family 2 weeks ago. Michael was a fine man. He leaves behind two children who are both in their teens. Hey everyone. I'm kind of going through a hard time right now. I have a history of really nasty cancer in my family and I just got the results back from an ultrasound and there is a mass growing in the center of my body right under my sternum. A very close friend of my daughter was born with a hereditary liver disease. She was lucky enough to have a transplanted partial liver from a living donor in December, but has had many problems. She is now awaiting a new liver for transplant. She'll be 29 in a couple weeks. I am beside myself with worry. I am finding grains of hope in hearing about deaths of others, which is probably sick and twisted thinking on my part. The following prayer request is from a former colleague. She’s a dear person with a heart of gold: Asking prayers for my brother, Ronnie, who is having a pacemaker put in on Monday. He has had two heart attacks and has several stents I'm hoping the weather doesn't prevent me from going to Arkansas to take him to Little Rock for the procedure. What a week this has been!
