"Flt. attendant said that it was a 'family' airline and kissing was not ok," she wrote. The L Word actress Leisha Hailey says she was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight after kissing her girlfriend. In a series of tweets Monday, Hailey wrote that she and fashion designer Nina Garduno, who have been together since 2006, "were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue." "I have been discriminated against by @SouthwestAir," she tweeted. "Flt. attendant said that it was a 'family' airline and kissing was not ok."

It was just a firehouse chat with the guys of Engine 54 in lower Manhattan. But President Barack Obama delivered a message he hopes will also hit home with every American in this week of national catharsis: "You're always going to have a president and an administration who's got your back." In the denouement to the daring raid that brought down Osama bin Laden, the president has in effect been reintroduced to the nation. While taking care to strike the right tone — trying to savor the success of the dramatic covert operation without appearing to gloat — Obama has...

The Minneapolis couple behind the website birthornot.com have been revealed as internet fraudsters. Pete and Alisha Arnold, both 30, set up a website claiming they were torn about aborting or keeping their healthy baby boy and asked the public to vote online and help them decide. But the alternative weekly City Pages revealed Pete is a pro-life activist who posts his beliefs on the internet under the alias Zeeboid.

With three weeks left until election day, it's highly unlikely Democrats in Washington will take up any gay rights issues before there is a new balance of power in the capitol. Gay rights activists, however, are intent on reminding President Obama and his party that they're not satisfied with what's been accomplished so far. The president was attending a Democratic fundraiser in Miami last night, held in the back yard of NBA star Alonzo Mourning's 12,000-square-foot mansion, when air horns could be heard blaring across the water, according to pool reports of the event. The noise was reportedly not loud...

Miss Suleman, 35, is reportedly more than a month behind on her mortgage payments and says she is facing foreclosure. But she insist she has turned down lucrative offers to strip off for Playboy or to appear in an adult movie .

On a recent Monday night at a Los Angeles karaoke bar, a meek-looking woman in a business suit and glasses was coaxed on stage by her co-workers. While the boozy crowd readied itself for four minutes of awkward singing, the woman — "Karen" — suddenly belted out exquisite, pitch-perfect renditions of the Jewel songs "Who Will Save Your Soul" and "Foolish Games." Astonished crowd members picked their jaws off the floor and cheered wildly. One person was heard comparing Karen to "an American Susan Boyle." Unbeknownst to them, they had been victims of "undercover karaoke." Karen really was Jewel,

Macy's Department Store in Boston has broken new ground in its cutting-edge support of "gay pride" and the homosexual / transgender movement. As an official "Gay Pride Week" event, Macy's downtown Boston store held a fashion show MC'd by a well-known Boston drag queen. "Jujubee" is a man who dresses as a woman and performs at various drag queen and cross-dressing events. (And it's been holding similar celebratory events in 16 cities nationwide, according to a company spokesman in our video!) The event was open to the public, held in the men's department of the downtown Macy's store, and widely...

About two dozen women took a walk down Congress Street topless Saturday, attracting a large crowd as they tried to preach that partial female nudity is not worthy of attracting a crowd. The point of the march was that a topless woman out in public should attract no more attention than a man walking around without a shirt on, said Ty MacDowell, 20, of Westbrook, who organized Saturday's event and promoted it on Facebook. But as the event got under way in Longfellow Square, the marchers were soon outnumbered by scores of onlookers -- mostly young men eagerly snapping...

Erykah Badu did a brave thing/made a shrewd marketing decision... What are your favorite moments in provocative pop flesh-baring? I'm not talking about simple titillation, but about nakedness risked to make a point... John & Yoko, "Two Virgins" album cover: The famous full-frontal shot of the Beatle and his life partner... Carolee Schneemann, "Interior Scroll": ...1975 performance piece, in which the groundbreaking feminist body artist pulled a thin roll full of writing from, yes, her interior... Patti Smith, "Easter" album cover: A flimsy nightgown covers Smith's flesh in the Lynn Goldsmith photo on her 1978 album. But she exposes something...

The competition to lease apartments is tough, and there are all kinds of incentives to get tenants... a River Oaks apartment complex is taking a different approach. Instead of giving you something, it’s offering to let you take something off. The apartment complex is known as La Maison, and it's located in the 2700 block of Revere. Its French name isn’t the only European thing about it... You see, on the La Maison sundeck, four stories high in the middle of Houston, clothing is optional. It’s the first of its kind in Houston. There were no takers Tuesday. For some,...

SYDNEY—About 5,200 naked people embraced each other on the steps of Sydney's iconic Opera House on Monday for a photo shoot by Spencer Tunick. Tunick, who is known for his nude group photos in public spaces, posed participants for more than an hour in a variety of positions. "It was difficult to get the straight participants to embrace the gay participants and vice versa," Tunick said. "So I was very happy that that last set up finally got done and everyone came together (in a) united, friendly kiss, a loving kiss in front of this great structure."

by Daniel T. Zanoza, Chairman, Springfield Nativity Scene Committee & Executive Director, RFFM.org ... On December 1st 2008, the Springfield Nativity Scene Committee (SNSC), received permission from the Secretary of State's office to display a Nativity scene, for the first time in state history, in the state Capitol Rotunda Building. The opening day ceremony attracted a great deal of media and the religious display attracted those with dissenting opinions regarding the expression of religious liberty in the public square as well. This is kind of like asserting executive privilege to block disclosure of the White House chef’s recipe file. Even lefties can’t believe it: [I]t is literally inconceivable that anyone drafting the Constitution would have imagined the position of White House Social Secretary, paid for with taxpayer funds, and that the majesty of separation of powers rhetoric would apply to a situation like this…. This is simply yet more evidence that all presidents, regardless of political party and ostensible commitment to “transparency,” take on royalist airs when taking their oath of office. Congress wants to talk to her about how the...

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Octomom Nadya Suleman has found a way to turn the spotlight back on her this Halloween. The controversial unemployed single mother dressed up as a pregnant nun and had her octuplets don red devil costumes earlier this week. She was all smiles for the camera while her 9-month-old octuplets were visibly restless, with some even photographed crying. Their trick or treat parade was completed by two big strollers draped in spider webs. Suleman, who has six other older kids, created a public uproar in January when she gave birth to her octuplets via in-vitro fertilization, while...

Red-faced United Nations officials on Monday admitted to a major security lapse after a UN guard helped Kentucky Fried Chicken's "Colonel Sanders" gain access to restricted areas. The guard escorted the white-suited intruder past security barriers, where he got a handshake from the UN General Assembly president, Dr. Ali A. Treki of Libya. The faux fast food chain founder also posed for a picture beneath the assembly's giant UN logo, which overlooks the spot where world leaders address their international counterparts. "It should not have happened -- that I will stress, and very strongly," said Michele Montas, spokeswoman for UN...

There is allegedly proof that the story of balloon boy Falcon Heene was a stunt to help pitch a television show. But the purported proof will cost you thousands of dollars to get. Today, we spoke with a Denver-area student who claims to have worked with Falcon's father, Richard Heene, on a reality show proposal for ABC. The student wants to sell the information and says the National Enquirer is considering buying it for between $5,000 and $8,000. The student claims to have been hired by Heene, and says the two worked together from March until May 2009 to prepare...
