As the outraged community in Ferguson, Missouri, continues to protest the officer-involved shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, radical communist revolutionaries from places like Chicago and New York City are seemingly infiltrating the local demonstrations and allegedly attempting to “incite” riots. A video uploaded on YouTube Tuesday shows Gregory Lee Johnson, a veteran member of the Revolutionary Community Party, riling up a crowd and seemingly discouraging them from listening to police’s advice to calm things down. Watch that video here (Strong language warning):[see video at link]

By James Joiner on August 19, 2014 14 5 0 View All Comments (5) Getty Images As I'm writing this, people are in the streets in Ferguson, Missouri for the sixth night in a row. Journalists are being threatened and detained—not arrested, so, God forbid, they will not have their day in court and force some semblance of legal reckoning—and therefore kept from performing their duties. These are duties which are, remember, firmly and unequivocally protected...

"If you don't want to get shot, tased, pepper-sprayed, struck with a baton or thrown to the ground," warns Officer Sunil Dutta of the Los Angeles Police Department, "just do what I tell you." The thing is, Officer Dutta (pictured) is also an Adjunct Professor of Homeland Security and Criminal Justice at Colorado Technical University. And he uttered those words not in the heat of the moment, but in an opinion piece in the Washington Post responding to widespread criticism of police attitudes and tactics currently on display in Ferguson, Missouri, but increasingly common nationwide. Dutta continues: Don't argue with...

Looking ahead after Ferguson. There are several outcomes to this situation in Ferguson. One: The officer will not be tried Two: There will be a trial with two possible outcomes: a) Wilson is acquitted b) He is found guilty The questions: What will be the reaction of various segments around the country? Will it be a repeat of LA 1992? Do you know your community and the demographics? Anticipated reaction from various communities? What preparation steps, if any, are you taking for these outcomes?

At least two more people have been shot as more violence has erupted in Ferguson, Missouri, where there have been several days of rioting in response to a police shooting of a black teenager. Officials overnight said a police officer shot a man who pointed a handgun at him, and a woman apparently was shot in a drive-by shooting. At KTVI-TV in St. Louis, some of the details were emerging. The station reported it was about 1 a.m. when four men, masked and carrying shotguns, approached a crowd. The report said when police arrived they heard shots fired and saw...

The Missouri Governor Jay Nixon gave "no heads up" to the White House before deploying The National Guard and has now made another abrupt decision as The National Guard closes in on Ferguson: *NIXON'S CALL TO HALT CURFEW TONIGHT MADE IN E-MAILED STATEMENT We presume when there are military tanks rolling through the streets of a town, there is no need for the actual implementation of a curfew... This once again rubs the administration's nose in it as AG Holder's comments from last week hang in the air: "get those damned tanks out of there." The neighborhood has been under...

In an unusual move, the global rights organization Amnesty International has dispatched a delegation of observers and organizers to Ferguson, Mo., to provide direct support to community members and to observe the police response to protests. The 13-person delegation, which arrived late last week, was the first of its kind deployed by Amnesty within the United States, the organization said. The St. Louis suburb has been filled with unrest since since Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, was shot and killed on Aug. 9 by Darren Wilson, a white police officer. That unrest intensified once again on Sunday, with reports...

Another night of protests and violence erupted in Ferguson, Missouri, on Sunday evening as tensions remain high following the death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown at the hands of the police on August 9. The violence began to flare again around 9 p.m. local time as police in riot fear fired teargas on hundreds of protestors - including children - for encroaching on their command post. Authorities also used rubber bullets and several protesters have reported getting hit. Many of the marchers retreated, but a group of about 100 stood defiantly about two blocks away until getting hit by another...

"Missouri Governor Jay Nixon said he was 'thunderstruck' by images he saw of police forces responding to protests in Ferguson after the shooting of teenager Michael Brown as the midnight to 5am curfew enters its second night. Nixon, speaking to ABC News' Martha Raddatz on This Week on Sunday, said the sight of police in riot gear with armored tanks led to his decision to replace the local police force with highway patrol. The measure had a calming effect at first, but last night saw one man shot and seven arrested after resisting the curfew order. A picture has emerged...

A picture of President Obama dancing at a party in Martha's Vineyard at the exact moment that police and protestors were confronting each other in Ferguson, MO has been deleted from the photographer's Instagram account. The photographer, Elizabeth Cecil, removed the photos without explanation. But the Washington Times has a pretty good reason. Twitter exploded about the photos with many making the comment that it was inappropriate for the president to be dancing while they were rioting in Ferguson.

Twitter has suspended the @YourAnonMessage account that posted what it claims is a picture of the police officer who shot Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. After tweeting a series of threats to the St. Louis County Police Department this week, international hacker collective Anonymous used the @YourAnonMessage account to post personal information about the person it claims is the police officer who killed Brown. "We don't comment on individual accounts, but you can see the reasons why an account may be suspended in our Twitter Rules," Jim Prosser, a Twitter spokesperson, told Business Insider.

Ferguson is the price we pay for turning America’s police into paramilitary units armed with the Pentagon’s surplus military gear leftover from decades of American militarism overseas. The era of your friendly neighborhood lawman only out to “protect and serve” the community is over — if it ever existed at all. Today, “protect and serve” would only be in reference to the State and its power, not the people.

Mitchell said she was driving when she saw Brown trying to pull away from an officer as the two were "tussling through a window." She said she had hoped to get a video because the incident "just didn't look right," but failed to get her camera out in time. The fatal police shooting of a young black suspect in a Midwestern town last weekend has given the Left yet another opportunity to advance its destructive, racially polarizing agenda. After 18-year-old Michael Brown, a black man was killed by police in Ferguson, a mostly black community in St. Louis County, Mo., the city and region surrounding it have been under siege. Not content to wait for the wheels of the justice system to spin, some view this tragedy as a license to riot. Cries of “no justice, no peace” pierce the air as demonstrators hurl Molotov cocktails at law enforcement...

The St. Louis County Police Department will no longer be involved in the policing Ferguson, Missouri, the suburban community rocked by protests after the death of an unarmed black teenager who was shot by a police officer last week. Rep. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.), who represents Ferguson, told Bloomberg on Thursday that Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon (D) is expected to announce the decision later today. "The gov. just called me and he's on his way to St. Louis now to announce he's taking St. Louis County police out of the situation," he said. The situation, already tenuous after extensive police presence...
