The Rochester school district says that a teacher's use of his school e-mail account to send a message urging staff to join a counter-rally against Thursday's Tea Party Patriots rally violated the district's e-mail policy. "The District considers an e-mail message that was sent out by a District employee on Friday, April 9, 2010, an inappropriate use of District e-mail. A flight from Rochester, N.Y., to Atlanta was canceled on Thursday after two flight attendants got into a fist fight, YNN Rochester reported. Two female flight attendants "got into a fistfight on the plane," said passenger Steve Mazur, according to the Web site. "The pilot decided to kick everyone off the plane." Orleans Co., N.Y. - A former anti-violence activist in the Rochester area has now been indicted on murder charges in Orleans County. Joyce Powell, 47, is charged in a killing that took place in 1992. She, and Shaliq Reed, 35, are accused of fatally shooting John Rutledge. Powell is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence in state prison on unrelated charges.

ONTARIO — Three men were charged Saturday with second-degree reckless endangerment after shots were fired — apparently with an AK-47 — on Lake Road and Ontario Center Road. State police found shell casings from ammunition used for an AK-47 about two-tenths of a mile from Robert E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant property. But State Police Investigator Jeff Miller said no connection had been found between the gunfire and the plant.

NORTH ROSE – A Wolcott fruit grower is accusing the U.S. Border Patrol of racially profiling four of his workers who were stopped on Route 414 Aug. 17 as they were returning to his farm from a trip to purchase clothing. The men were all detained and taken for processing; Border Patrol Officer E.
