Another day, another vitriolic and personal David Horowitz attack on a conservative who doesn't meet his purity test. Today he amplifies Gary Bauer's call to action against a proposal from Rep. Ron Paul, R-Tex., to cut foreign aid to Israel.

Long ago Bill Buckley drummed the anti-Semites out of the conservative movement, and the movement thrived as a result. But the Jew-haters have returned. For years the Texas crackpot, Ron Paul, has been attacking America and Israel as imperialist powers — the Great Satan and the Little Satan, and calling for America’s retreat from the battle against our totalitarian enemies. At the recent CPAC conference Paul’s Jew-hating storm-troopers swarmed the Freedom Center’s table to vent their spleen against Israel as a Nazi state. Now Paul is making a priority of withdrawing aid for Israel — the only democracy in the...

Veteran ESPN broadcaster Ron Franklin was pulled from the air before Saturday's Fiesta Bowl after he called ESPN sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards "sweetcakes" during an off-air spat, Sports By Brooks reported Sunday. Franklin and Edwards were scheduled to work together for Friday's Chik-fil-A Bowl and the incident occurred in a pre-game production meeting also attended by ESPN announcers Ed Cunningham and Rod Gilmore. When the conversation turned to the subject of Gilmore's wife Marie being elected mayor of Alameda, Calif., Edwards tried to join in but was shut down by Franklin, according to the report. “Why don’t you leave this...

Sadly, the disaster in the Gulf continues this week as BP’s efforts at containment keep hitting snags and residents along the coast scramble to clean up and defend their shores and wildlife. Many have criticized the federal government in the past weeks for not doing enough. The reality is there is only so much government can do to help, yet a lot they can do to prolong the problem and misdirect the pain. For example, in the interest of “doing something” the administration has enacted a unilateral ban on offshore drilling. This is counterproductive. I am proud to cosponsor legislation...

A Rasmussen Reports poll pitting libertarian-leaning Republican Rep. Ron Paul against President Obama for the 2012 presidential election finds the two men within one point of each other among likely voters.

Over the weekend, Ron Paul won the CPAC straw poll for president. Many pundits immediately dismissed the win, for a lot of reasons. (The Atlantic did a roundup of all the "he's irrelevant" comments.) My take on Ron Paul is this: He says a lot of off-the-wall stuff, but his bottom line is that he's a limited-government libertarian. And he's not Mitt Romney, the establishment GOP choice. I think that's why he won. Joe Scarborough likes to say that if you look at where Ross Perot did well in 1992, those are the same places that tea party candidates are...

As a former conservative turned free-market libertarian, I have always been intrigued by Ron Paul's strong advocacy for the free market. After all, conservatives claim to stand on the same principles. So, I found it quite odd during the Republican presidential debates of 2008 when all of the other candidates actually had answers for how they would better "run" the economy. Having lived in Russia, China, and Europe, each candidate's answer scared me to death. Had they somehow missed the memo about how planning economies doesn't work, has never worked, and never will work? Cold War, anybody? The proper answer...

An idiot from a “9/11 Truth” group cornered Ron Paul recently and asked why he hasn’t “come out about the truth about 9/11.” Paul’s answer: he has too much to do, and he can’t handle the controversy....

Note: This article contains spoilers about Sacha Baron Cohen's upcoming movie, Bruno. Presidential candidates will do almost anything for publicity. But Ron Paul's appearance in Sacha Baron Cohen's upcoming Bruno movie suggests he draws the line at making sex tapes with gay Austrian TV hosts. In a five-minute scene, comedian Cohen tries—and fails—to seduce the Texas congressman and former Republican presidential candidate in a Washington hotel room. A spokeswoman for Paul confirmed the appearance but declined to discuss details, which were provided by two people who attended a test screening last week. The film, slated for release in July, is...

I probably should have just listened to Paul Harvey. Though it wasn’t actually Paul Harvey. It was Ron Chapman. And that’s probably the problem. I understand Ron Chapman is a radio legend somewhere, but I don’t live there. So, to me, he’s just an insufferable bore. But I should have been listening anyway. Instead I got an idea. An idea that had been kind of simmering in my head for a week or so. I was trying to think of a way to show that I wasn’t happy. That I was tired of bailouts. That I didn’t want to pay...

I read occasionally of former Weatherman Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn, both now not only accepted, despite their bombing campaign against America in the 1960s and 70s, but successful , establishment educators whose opinions on social issues are taken seriously. Every time I see Ayers’ name I shudder with fear and rage and realize that I will never be able to erase the mark he left on my life one evening 40 years ago.

This year, we have an obligation to stand together behind a new declaration — a declaration of energy independence. We, as a nation, face an energy crisis, and I know that if we harness the same American ingenuity and commitment this country was founded on, we can solve this crisis. We have two responsibilities: Bring down gas prices in the short term and break our national addiction to oil in the long term. Moving toward clean, affordable alternative energy will strengthen our national security, revive our economy and preserve our environment, and the time is now. I announced a plan...

Vid from RidleyReport.com Is it "neoconservative" to spend ourselves into a military collapse? How will we bomb things if we can't buy the bombs? If you cherish our military adventures, take note: We're out of money and Dr. Paul's controlled drawdown may be the only way to prevent a collapse so complete it costs America her ability to project power. http://youtube.com/watch?v=nbFTicFF9eA

Ron Paul’s Missouri supporters aren’t giving up. Despite his distant fourth-place finish in the state’s presidential primary, with just 4.5 percent of the vote, more than a thousand Paul supporters crowded into Republican county caucuses last weekend, electing hundreds of delegates to upcoming congressional district and state conventions.

LAKE JACKSON — In what promised to be very different gatherings, Republican candidates Congressman Ron Paul and Friendswood Mayor Pro Tem Chris Peden met with District 14 constituents in Lake Jackson on Sunday to campaign for a seat in Congress. Peden is challenging Paul in the March 4 primary. Early voting begins Feb. 19. The candidates each had a rally at the Lake Jackson Civic Center on Sunday, and both said the overlapping times and shared venue simply were coincidence. The signs hundreds of Paul’s supporters held were both for his campaign for the Republican nomination for president, in which...

I worry about my country. I think the Constitution is hanging by a thin thread. I think by the time Congress and Bush and McCain get done, we will have totally open borders, no immigration laws being followed and tax burdens that will break us all. I believe that the National ID will put us under the thumb of the government to the point of us all becoming criminals in the eyes of the powers that be. I see guns available only for the criminals, but law abiding citizens will not be able to own them. I see colleges that...

— Some quotes from Thursday's Republican presidential debate in Boca Raton, Fla. ___ MIKE HUCKABEE _ On the Iraq war and President Bush: "I supported the president when he led us into this, as did the Democrats, and I think we owe him not a lot of scorn. We owe him our thanks that he had the courage to recognize there was a potential of weapons of mass destruction and rather than wait until we had another attack, he went and made sure that it wasn't going to happen from Saddam Hussein. Now, everybody can look back and say, 'Oh,...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A series of newsletters in the name of GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul contain several racist remarks -- including one that says order was restored to Los Angeles after the 1992 riots when blacks went "to pick up their welfare checks."
