The GOP Establishment wing of twitter is abuzz today about this story by ProPublica writer Kim Barker. ProPublica, for those who don’t know, is a far left-wing rabblerousing organization that has spent a ton of time and energy attempting to dig up dirt on right wing charities and PACs in an effort to slow the effectiveness of these groups. Ever willing to play the useful idiot, many establishment cronies are trumping up this story as proof of TEA Party corruption as alleged by Steve LaTourette’s nonsensical and hypocritical piece yesterday. The basic thrust of Barker’s article is that Move America Forward, a charitable...

This week, ProPublica released a report on the financial (and moral) corruption of a Tea Party group operating under the name Move America Forward, which was founded by one Sal Russo. Russo also helped start the Our Country Deserves Better PAC, aka the Tea Party Express. Move America Forward has run fake drives to give care packages to troops, stolen images of other charitable campaigns and passed them off as its own, and trumpeted a nonexistent partnership with Walter Reed Hospital — all while funneling very real millions to itself. The group is an industry leader at taking your Tea...

In February 2013, Move America Forward announced an ambitious fundraising goal. The charity, launched in part by one of the most prominent figures in the Tea Party movement, had adopted the 800 Marines in a battalion fighting in Afghanistan and wanted to send them all care packages. ......................................................... Yet an examination of its fundraising appeals, tax records and other documents shows that Move America Forward has repeatedly misled donors and inflated its charitable accomplishments, while funneling millions of dollars in revenue to the men behind the group and their political consulting firms.

Updated 5:11 p.m. | House Republican leaders are mum on a timetable for advancing immigration overhaul legislation and have so far been noncommittal on moving on the issue before the end of the 113th Congress. But a group of mayors and business leaders from across the political spectrum is determined to prove that momentum is growing for a rewrite of the nation’s immigration laws — even among conservatives. The coalition, Partnership for a New American Economy, on Wednesday held the first in a series of monthly conference calls moderated by Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist and featuring public...

Tea Party Express co-founder Sal Russo wrote an op-ed piece for Roll Call on May 14 entitled “Conservatives Need to Fix the Broken Immigration System.” In his commentary, Russo addressed what he sees as several major problems with our current immigration system, including the fact that immigration laws are not enforced, our present visa system is inadequate to supply our economic needs, border security is ineffective, and there are rich incentives for illegal immigration. Russo expanded on these problems in language that is especially appealing to conservatives focused on the economic aspects of immigration, both legal and illegal. For example:...

Sal Russo, co-founder of the Tea Party Express, announced his support for amnesty on Wednesday, reversing his organization’s statement from a year ago that it would not take a position on immigration reform. If you take a look at Russo’s background, this isn’t exactly the revelation that some in the media are making it out to be. What’s interesting, though, is the dichotomy between Russo’s position and the principles of the organization he helped to create. The Tea Party Express bills itself as anti-establishment, but Russo’s immigration proposal is nearly identical to the principles pushed by GOP House Leaders --...

SNIP Sal Russo of the Tea Party Express broke the news in an op-ed titled “Conservatives Need to Fix the Broken Immigration System,” published by CQ Roll Call early Wednesday morning. In that piece, the longtime GOP operative and consultant argued that “conservatives should be at the forefront of reform so the law reflects the just interests of the United States, not misty-eyed ideals of some of the liberal do-gooder reformers.” That means no special pathways to citizenship that allow undocumented immigrants to cut in line, Russo cautioned, but rather some reasonable procedures that require “the 11 million people who...

The Sixth Troopathon was a blast, as they all are. Less raised this year, a bit under $400,000, but they still take donations. Look for the Troopathon link at the top of main pages here at FR, and I will also post a link later. Jim was a bit late, but did get there after taking advantage...no let's say...BEING taken advantage by that age old law named after that Murphy guy... Jim Robinson with Sal Russo, the guy that pulls all of this together with the help of an excellent crew of dedicated office staff doing 23hr days in the...

Actual title: The Wisconsin Education Association Council (the largest labor union in Wisconsin) has been caught HIDING survey data that proves Gov. WalkerÂ’s leadership and reforms are working. . My Friend, Â I received this email from one of the activists in our office and had to share it with you immediately. Â The Wisconsin Education Association Council (the largest labor union in Wisconsin) has been caught HIDING survey data that proves Gov. WalkerÂ’s leadership and reforms are working. Â If we donÂ’t do something to help Gov. Scott Walker in Wisconsin right now, these labor unions are going to steal...

Happy New Year!We were so busy in 2011 that it seems like a blur that flew by. At a time when the mainstream media keeps pushing the notion that the Tea Party is losing its influence, I think that it is important to look back on all that you and I accomplished in 2011. We can be very proud of all that we have done and use it as motivation to fight for Tea Party values in 2012. Here are some of the highlights of 2011:Organized the first Tea Party response, by Michele Bachmann, to the State of...

Is Sarah Palin Really Out of the Race? Dear Tea Party Supporter, The liberals are still chortling because they think they have gotten rid of Sarah Palin by her decision not to run for President in 2012. But I have news for them when it comes to Sarah Palin: “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.” . Governor Palin has said from the very beginning that she is going to use her voice to advance the conservative cause in America, and I know she means it. When she was picked to be the Republican nominee for Vice-President, there was not a more exciting day...

This was my inbox: Fellow conservatives, First off, we are a group of conservative and Tea Party activists who are against the Tea Party Express. We support their political views, which most all conservative groups share, but do not agree with their unsavory fundraising, organizational, and political tactics. With that said, if you are a supporter of the Tea Party Express, we would like you to seriously reconsider any financial and moral support of their organization. The time to hold them accountable is now. Contact the Tea Party Express and ask them for a refund of your contribution. Simply provide...

Tea Party strategist predicts 'tremendous gains' for candidates By Jordy Yager - 09/26/10 12:25 PM ET The head of one of the most powerful U.S. Tea Party movements said on Sunday that candidates under the burgeoning party’s umbrella are going to make “tremendous gains” this November because they have “turned the political system on its head.” Longtime political consultant Sal Russo, a leading strategist within the Tea Party movement and the head of the Tea Party Express, told Bob Schieffer on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that his organizing group is so strong -- raising more than $5 million so far...

Tea Party Leader: 'GOP Sounding More Like Us' Wednesday, 25 Aug 2010 02:29 PM Tea Party Express leader Sal Russo tells Newsmax that Sen. Lisa Murkowski had "lost her bearings" in Washington and says the grass-roots conservative movement is now having a sweeping influence on the primary races around the country. "The victories we are seeing today [show] that candidates from both parties are trying to sound like 'tea-party candidates,' which means the issues we feel our vital for a safe and prosperous Americans are now being placed center stage," Russo tells Newsmax. The Tea Party Express endorsement of political...

SNIPPET: "The Tea Party Express's endorsement of Rep. Walt Minnick (D-Idaho) has had little real political impact so far. After the endorsement, TPE's Sal Russo couldn't tell when we might see, say, a TV ad or mailer for Minnick -- although Mark Williams claimed that the group had planned to run ads supportive of Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) until he decided to support the final version of health-care reform. So what impact have we seen? A vast and efficient cheesing-off of tea party groups in Idaho."

WASHINGTON - The most influential national tea party group, backed by a $3 million campaign war chest, surprised Idahoans by endorsing freshman Rep. Walt Minnick's re-election bid. Not all local tea partyers were pleased. Minnick is the only Democrat in the nation to land an endorsement from the Tea Party Express, the most prominent national organization in the burgeoning political movement. -- SNIP -- "We don't know where the national tea party came up with the endorsement of Walt Minnick," said Russ Smerz of Tea Party Boise. "It's a little concerning to us that Tea Party Express would endorse someone...

SNIPPET: "The leadership of the Tea Party Express PAC came to the National Press Club on Thursday to herald its early successes and to unveil its expanded list of 2010 electoral targets." SNIPPET: "In an effort to show that the Tea Party Express PAC is not a “tool” of the Republican Party, but instead is an independent political force, Russo announced that the PAC is getting behind one conservative Democrat who has opposed President Obama’s agenda: Rep. Walt Minnick (ID-01). The decision to get behind Minnick is attention-grabbing because Republicans have fielded a strong candidate in that race: Iraq war...

What the Tea Party Movement Means for Conservatives by Sal Russo 12/01/2009 As I have travelled across the country on the Tea Party Express buses, I have been struck by the similarity to the early days of Ronald Reagan. The explosion of interest by every-day Americans in taking their country back, as well as the biased mainstream media trying to portray conservatives as crackpots, is all hauntingly familiar. Will the tea party movement be the beginning of another Reagan Revolution, as I think it will, or will the left-wing media be right that we are nothing but a collection...
