Former New York governor George Pataki urged people Friday to sign his online petition condemning Trump’s anti-immigrant comments. ... Donald Trump has renewed his calls for tougher immigration controls in the wake of an illegal Mexican migrant allegedly murdering a woman in San Francisco. The presidential hopeful branded U.S. border controls an 'absolute disgrace' in light of the revelation that Francisco Sanchez, 45, had already been deported five times - and was recently released from jail by officials who routinely refuse requests to hand over illegal immigrants. I was just watching a news conference where the mayor of Denver surrounded himself with illegals holding pro amnesty signs. Doesn't the House have the power of the purse? Why don't they defund federal programs to sanctuary cities? Haven't these cities intentionally violated federal law regarding harboring fugitives? If the politicians in those cities want illegals, let them fund the expense locally.

San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera is demanding that Nevada reimburse California cities and counties for treatment of about 500 indigent psychiatric patients who were given one-way bus tickets to the Golden State in recent years. Those costs include about $500,000 that Herrera says San Francisco spent on medical care, housing and other aid for 20 people shipped here in a practice sometimes called Greyhound therapy.

Jurors reached a verdict Wednesday in the penalty phase of the murder trial of Pedro Espinoza, convicted of murdering Jamiel Shaw. The jury deliberated for less than two and a half hours before recommending the death penalty for Espinoza.
