San Diego Local News Labels President Obama As Rape Suspect A local San Diego news station has found themselves in the spotlight after portraying President Obama as a rapist during a news report. The photo was displayed for five seconds until the error was noticed. Oops! Fox 5 San Diego ran a segment at about 10:04 p.m. where anchor Kathleen Bade said, “The only suspect in a sex assault at SDSU will not be charged.” At that time, a photo of Obama accompanied her spiel, appearing just above her left shoulder. The photo remained there for a five seconds, but...

Parents are outraged after a pack of California Cub Scouts on a nature hike ended up on a nude beach. The group of fourth graders, parents and volunteers was hiking along the San Diego coastline on Jan. 24 when they stumbled upon dozens of naked people at the clothing optional Black's Beach. One of the scouts' mothers said, "I was nauseated because I had never seen a bunch of nude people just walking around holding hands, strange people that I don't know."
  • GOP abuzz over Mitt Romney’s liberal lexicon on poverty, foreign policy

Mitt Romney’s opening pitch for a third shot at the White House left many Republicans scratching their heads, in part because his plans to fight poverty and tyranny seemed to borrow the lexicon of liberals like FDR, LBJ and Woodrow Wilson. With a full house of Republican National Committee members listening aboard the USS Midway in San Diego, Mr. Romney implored his party last week “to lift people out of poverty” and “to make the world safe.” The first phrase is a favorite of liberals who gush over Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal and Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society programs...

The McStay family, who lived in Fallbrook, vanished on February 4, 2010Tuesday marked exactly four years since San Diego’s McStay family vanished without a trace, leaving few clues behind in a case that has baffled San Diego law enforcement and captured international attention. The family – parents Joseph and Summer McStay and their young sons, 4-year-old Gianni McStay and 3-year-old Joseph Matteo McStay – disappeared from their home in Fallbrook on Feb. 4, 2010. After more than three years of no resolve in the case of San Diego's missing McStay family, the case got a major break on November 15,...

...The church is prioritizing climate change just months after the Scripps Institution of Oceanography's Veerabhadran "Ram" Ramanathan organized a Vatican meeting on the issue. Ramanathan said the discussion, which spanned four days in May, was encouraging. "The Vatican agreed that we need a massive mobilization of public opinion about the seriousness of the issue, and why it's our responsibility to be good stewards of the planet," he said. Ramanathan is a member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences. He believes religious leaders are now in a better position than scientists to inspire action....

San Diego County parks have set four Easter egg hunts, but are keeping the affairs secular by renaming the featured hopper the “Spring Bunny.” Events over the next two weeks will feature different activities at each location. Some feature face painting and others pancake breakfasts. Eggs hunts are set at four county parks. Image courtesy of County News Center“But the constants at all of them will be a chance to meet the Spring Bunny and lots of eggs – thousands of them!” says the county, whose news release doesn’t use the word Easter. Until we have some actual progress involving an NFL team moving to Los Angeles, maybe it's best to stop the breathless speculation about which teams will move there. There won't be a team moving to Los Angeles in 2015. ESPN.com's Adam Schefter said commissioner Roger Goodell told the Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams – the three hottest candidates to move to L.A. if that ever happened – that there will be no team in Los Angeles next season.

Peruta is the seminal right to carry outside the home case that was decided on February of 2014.   The case was decided against Sheriff Gore of San Diego County, and San Diego County.   The Sheriff and the County declined to appeal to the full Ninth Circuit for an en banc hearing.   The AG for California, applied to be granted the ability to intervene for the state, to ask for a en banc hearing. Today, 12 November, 2014, the Ninth Circuit denied the motions to intervene, thus denying requests for an en banc hearing for the decision.   Therefore, Peruta stands...

His job was to make phone calls and knock on doors to ask voters for their support. Harper said he quit on July 12, two days after an incident involving DeMaio in a restroom at campaign headquarters.
