“Obama’s 2015 Selma paradigm meshes with his 2007 fiction that Blacks had already traveled 90 percent of the road to equality.”Barack Obama returned to Selma, Alabama, last Saturday, with an updated version of his speech on race delivered eight years ago, during another commemoration of the 1965 march over the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Back then, presidential candidate Obama told the crowd at Brown Chapel AME Church that Blacks had already come “90 percent of the way” to racial equality. He was implicitly predicting that the election of himself as the first Black president would propel African Americans to 100 percent...

Conservative black leaders are calling President Barack Obama’s likening of homosexual activism to the 1965 Selma to Montgomery civil rights march “ridiculous” and “an insult.” […] “I think it’s a problem not only for the president but for a lot of people, who are deeply misguided, to compare people who are protesting to have their behavior, their sexual behavior, recognized as some kind of civil right or for that matter civil virtue and compare that to people who are trying to vote, trying to go into a restaurant and get a sandwich, are trying to stay in a hotel overnight...

One pastor asserted that Obama cannot relate to the struggle of those who marched 50 years ago. During a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the historic civil rights march in Selma, Ala., Barack Obama offered a speech that left many minority leaders flabbergasted. “Ask your gay friend if it’s easier to be out and proud in America now than it was 30 years ago,” he said, leading a number of faith leaders to criticize his equation of the relative struggle for inclusion by blacks and homosexuals. Breitbart spoke to Coalition of African American Pastors’ member William Owens, who explained...

Mark Levin explains what the 1965 “Bloody Sunday” Selma march and Civil Rights Movement was NOT about (and what it predictably was turned into last weekend).

The president of a black pastors coalition has expressed his anger that President Barack Obama compared the civil rights movement to that for same-sex marriage at the 50th anniversary of the “Bloody Sunday” march, when black American citizens were beaten while demanding voting rights they were being denied. “Ask your gay friend if it’s easier to be out and proud in America now than it was 30 years ago,” Obama said in Selma, Alabama, on Saturday, as he characterized the movement for same-sex marriage as another civil rights struggle. “I marched with many people back in those days and I...

I liked the movie "Selma," though it could have done without the rap song during credits that referenced "hands up, don't shoot," a slogan that emerged from the shooting of Michael Brown by a Ferguson, Missouri, police officer whose actions the Justice Department recently determined did not "constitute prosecutable violations" of federal civil rights law. As President Obama marched last weekend in Selma, Alabama, along with others commemorating that seminal civil rights demonstration, it became clear that the time has come to stop focusing on marches and take a sober look at what really troubles the African-American community today and...

The lies just keep on piling up. Largely because a drugged-out, giant black thug robbed a store and tried to murder a white police officer, losing his own life in the process instead, the full force of our modern black-supremacist government has descended on an already beleaguered police department in America’s heartland. The gestapo agents of Eric Holder and Barack Obama have formally concocted an official, bogus narrative which is obviously designed to help Black Grievance Industry attorneys win huge civil settlements on behalf of Michael Brown’s family, seeing as they completely failed to turn their shameless race-hoax into a...

elma: After ignoring the battle that ended slavery under the first Republican president, President Obama at the 50th anniversary of Democrats' blocking the Selma bridge says, "We're the slaves that built the White House." The parts of American history that this president chooses to commemorate and what he says about them speaks volumes about his view of America and American history. His America is not only unexceptional, it is perpetually and deeply racist, an overbearing world bully with no right to lecture the world about morality, democracy or freedom. He reminded us over the weekend that despite any progress since...

The New York Times has been accused of bias by conservative US media after cropping George W Bush and his wife Laura out of its front-page image of the Selma anniversary march. The former Republican president took part in Saturday's march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama to mark 50 years since one of the bloodiest episodes in America's civil rights movement. But the photograph on the front page of Sunday's New York Times, which showed Barack and Michelle Obama leading the anniversary march, appeared to cut the Bushes from the right-hand side of the image.

On this day in 1965, state police under the command of the Democrat Governor, George Wallace, attacked African-Americans who were demonstrating for voting rights in Selma, Alabama. The rampaging Democrats used billy clubs and tear gas and dogs in their “Bloody Sunday” assault. A Republican-appointed federal judge, Frank Johnson, soon ruled in favor of the demonstrators, enabling them to complete their march two weeks later.

Ku Klux Klan fliers were left at Selma homes on the 50th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday." Robert Jones, the grand dragon of the Loyal White Knights of the KKK spoke with AL.com Sunday afternoon and said about 4,000 KKK fliers have been distributed throughout Selma and Montgomery in the last two weeks. "We pretty much put out fliers, some against King and some against immigration," Jones said. "It's time for the American people to wake up to these falsehoods that they preach about MLK." Jones said bags containing a flier and a rock were thrown onto the doorsteps of people's...

Last year the Seventh Circuit Court ruled against Notre Dame in a case where the university objected to the contraception mandate in Obamacare. It appeared to be a bit of a side step at the time, not speaking directly to the constitutionality of the mandate, but rather arguing simultaneously that Notre Dame had failed to show sufficient burden or damages from the mandate and that the actual parties providing the services in question were not part of the suit. Judge Richard Posner, author of the majority, wrote that since Notre Dame is not directly responsible for providing the preventive...

Black resentment, black hostility, black racial consciousness that permeates every part of black media, black churches, black families, and black schooling The pat answer for black complaints about events these days is “white racism.” One rarely, if ever, reads or hears anything about black racism, but if you ask, many blacks will acknowledge it. As the 50th anniversary of the Selma, Alabama confrontation was recalled, there was little mention of a multitude of black violence events that continue to either go unreported or reported to reflect “white racism” even when it is not a factor. In 2013, Colin Flaherty published...

The New York Times commemorated the 50th anniversary of the march in Selma, Alabama by running a frontpage photo that is raising some questions. The paper of record, the anointed gold standard of journalistic integrity, appears to be playing games with its audience by conveniently cropping out a long-time political foe of the newspaper: President George W. Bush. Here is a wider angle photo of the marchers in Selma, Alabama, as reported by Newsbusters. Look below. And here is a “more inclusive” photo with all the prominent figures included (as noted by Ben Smith, not of Buzzfeed fame): If you peer down to the...

This afternoon, in the hot center of the state of Alabama, a parade of Americans will pay homage to a historic march. Meeting on the Edmund Pettus Bridge, on which hundreds of black Americans were beaten for the crime of standing up to their government, Barack Obama will remember a heroic feat of rebellion, and a brutal act of repression. The president, the White House has announced, will speak personally “about what it means to stand on the spot where police beat and gassed 600 unarmed protestors,” and he will explain what the moment means to him as an African...

Under the guise of commemorating justice, on the 50th Anniversary of the Bloody Sunday March in Selma, Alabama, Barack Obama engaged in his usual artful deception by exploiting the event to further his agenda. While placing the subtext of blame upon the shoulders of racist white men, to make a self-serving point concerning illegal immigration Obama used black Americans as beasts of burden to haul the weight of his reprimand. For starters, historical revisionist Barack Obama left out the fact that those doing the beating in Selma were members of the Democratic Party. The president dared not reveal that, 50...

MRC's Dan Gainor alerted us that Ben Smith of the Daily Signal tweeted out a shocking visual: the New York Times front page on Sunday cropped George W. and Laura Bush out of its photo of a Selma anniversary march. They cropped it just to include President Obama. (Notice the Bushes didn't try to crowd right next to the president to get into the frame.) And a fuller shot: The online story by Peter Baker and Richard Fausset doesn't have column-inch limitations, but its photo, too, excludes the Bushes. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/08/us/obama-in-selma-for-edmund-pettus-bridge-attack-anniversary.html?_r=0

Diane Nash, a leader and strategist of the student wing of the 1960s civil rights movement, refused to march in Selma on Saturday because former President George W. Bush also attended the event, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the famous nonviolent protest.

Yesterday, the media and leftists kept whining about there being zero Republicans at Selma for the anniversary march. As is typical for the media and leftist progressives, there were actually 23 Republicans in attendance yesterday. Even George W. Bush, the devil to the media and the left was at the march, though you wouldn’t know it if you saw today’s New York Times with George Bush and Laura Bush cropped out of their photo.

Barack Obama marched with New Black Panthers at the Selma rally in 2007. ... New Panther National Chief Malik Zulu Shabazz is seen speaking at the rally on the left. Then Obama speaks to the Selma crowd at the same rally. This was the same visit to Selma where Obama credited the 1965 marchers with empowering his black father and white mother to marry… Obama was born in 1961. He was off by 4 years when the Selma march took place. But, it made a good speech.
