I just wanted to remind everyone the callousness of Obama's treatment of Americans, particularly those who had lived through or were affected by the events of 9/11 as we near its tenth anniversary. Flying Air Force One so close to NYC's skyline caused mass panic and renewed pain for so many and it's incredible that so callous and thoughtless an act went unpunished, if only in the estimation of the man early in his adminsistration by the majority of Americans. The act was horrifyingly stupid and to this day I don't believe we know who was on Air Force One....

The royal family of Dubai (Doo-bye), one of the wealthy Arab emirates, has bought two buildings in Manhattan for more than one-point-one (B) billion dollars. The New York Times reports that the buildings are 230 Park Avenue, a 34-story tower between 45th and 46th streets, and the Essex House, an Art Deco hotel on Central Park South. The buildings were purchased through two companies controlled by the royal family of the oil-rich city state. According to the Times, this is Dubai's first foray into New York's real estate market. The crown prince, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wants to...

familiar saw-toothed view of the New York skyline on a product with deep New York roots has quietly been altered. How it came to be changed is a story of corporate strategizing - and of deciding to ease some customers' painful memories of the Sept. 11 attacks.Half-asleep coffee drinkers may not pay much attention to what is on the coffee can, but in redesigning its product, Chock full o'Nuts removed the World Trade Center. For years, the twin towers had stood against a taxi-yellow sky on the Chock full o'Nuts label, as did the Empire State Building and the Citicorp...

Glaciers Dominated L.A. Skyline Larry O'Hanlon, Discovery News The San Gorgonio Mountains Aug. 27, 2003 — Despite its palm-lined boulevards, Hollywood was just miles from glaciers as little as 5,000 years ago, according to California geologists. Using a new technique to measure how long glacier-strewn boulders have been ice-free, geologist Lewis Owen of the University of California at Riverside and colleagues have discovered there were several glacial periods on San Gorgonio Mountain immediately northeast of Los Angeles. "The ultimate aim is to determine the fluctuation of the ice sheets and climate during the last glacial period," Owen said. That, in...

We have seen in the "Condit-style" and in the "Arkancide"-style murders a tendency for the official cover stories to try to blame the killings on a place. The ten killings mentioned in the Chandra websites as possibly Condit-related, all have been tagged in official media to some specific spot and some alleged series of murders going on in that place-- with the other members of the alleged series tending to vanish upon examination. In the case of the 1996 double murder on the Skyline Drive near Luray, Virginia, I am at a loss to say whether it more resembles Condit,...
