NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A serial spitter was being blamed Tuesday night for more than a dozen incidents in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn - including at least one involving a pre-schooler.As CBS2's Tracee Carrasco reported, one Brooklyn woman who did not want to be identified said she and her husband were the victims of one bizarre, unprovoked and disgusting attack. "People are generally respectful, so this is the first time that I really felt targeted," the woman said. The man and woman were walking through their Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood at the time."As we were crossing the street on Flatbush...

An RVO listener told us today the spitting incident at the DC Health care protest did occur and he was about 10 feet away. Regular caller “Wayne” said he drove to DC on Saturday to take part in the Tea Party protest, and, in particular, to deliver a “pink slip” notice to Congressman Courtney’s(D, CT 2) office. Listen to him describe how he was treated. Wayne said the protest was orderly and well behaved, and he said he saw only two signs that the left could seize upon, but hardly controversial considering what the left did to “W”. One was...

I’ve been writing newspaper columns for 15 years, writing books since 2002, and blogging since 2004. I’ve lost track of how many times the nutroots have gleefully declared my demise. Oh, how they wish, wish, wish it were so! The latest moonbat tempest in a teapot concerns an e-mail response I sent to readers over the weekend who have been asking about my absence from the O’Reilly Factor. I had received several hundred messages and it was wrong to keep ignoring long-time fans wondering what happened. I took the time to personally respond to each inquiry. It is an awkward...

PHOENIX -- Charles Barkley insists he's serious about running for governor of Alabama, but he's got to move back there first. "I can't run until 2014," he said. "I have to live there for seven years, so I'm looking for a house there as we speak." And he said he is an independent, not a Democrat as previously reported. "The Republicans are full of it," Barkley said. "The Democrats are a little less full of it." Asked if he had ever been in the governor's office in Montgomery, Barkley said no. "They don't let many black people in the governor's...

by Mark Finkelstein May 22, 2006 In one fell segment, Chris Matthews pulled back the curtain and revealed his view of America's foreign policy intentions as fundamentally pernicious. For him, the United States in Iraq is no better than a 'colonial master.' Matthews' guest on this evening's 'Hardball' was John Batiste, one of the former generals calling for Donald Rumsfeld's removal as Secretary of Defense. The topic at hand was the failure to anticipate the insurgency with which we have been been faced in Iraq. Describing the miscalculation, Matthews said: "It's like the British coming in to New York at...

Gene Upshaw, executive director of the NFL Players Association, said he has contacted league officials regarding the ejection of Redskins safety Sean Taylor from Saturday's playoff victory in Tampa Bay and is certain Taylor will not be suspended for Saturday's NFC semifinal game at Seattle. Game officials said that Taylor spat in the face of Buccaneers running back Michael Pittman, issued Taylor a 15-yard penalty and ejection and did not penalize Pittman for a retaliatory slap to Taylor's head.

Just now, Chris Matthews on "Hardball" went after New York leftist Mark Green for calling this a "corrupt" administration. To which Matthews shot back, "Any convictions? Can you name one conviction? One person in this administration who has been convicted of a crime?" To which Green mentions the indictments of DeLay and Jack Abramoff. "They don't work for the administration," says Matthews. "Can you name a single instance of proven corruption?" Green, as is his wont, hemmed and hawed and licked his lips. Ben Ginsburg, the Republican on the other side, just stayed silent. Props to Chris.

While most political parties -- particularly third parties -- fight for more publicity, California's Libertarians might have wanted a bit less in 2002. The state Libertarian Party's leadership disowned gubernatorial candidate Gary David Copeland last month after Copeland spit upon Los Angeles KABC-AM radio host Brian Whitman. Basically, Copeland and Whitman argued over whether undocumented immigrants should be eligible for California driver's licenses. Copeland called Whitman a racist. Whitman called Copeland a lunatic. Whitman shut off Copeland's microphone and insulted him. Copeland expectorated.

The evening started innocently enough for Brian Whitman, Sunday evening talk show host on KABC in Los Angeles. He had on his show four minor candidates running for governor of California. Three were on the phone and the fourth, Libertarian candidate Gary Copeland, was in studio. The conversation eventually turned to illegal immigration. Copeland did not like Whitman's position and called him a racist. Although Whitman kept trying to answer, Copeland kept talking over him and would not let him speak. Just as Whitman puts callers in "timeout" on his show when they won't let him have his say, he...
