NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Country singer Trace Adkins will perform prior to President Donald Trump's appearance on stage during his visit to Nashville on Tuesday. Trump will be in town stumping for Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who is running for Senate. Blackburn hopes to take the seat currently filled by Senator Bob Corker. Adkins will perform before Trump takes the stage at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium for the rally. Adkins is no stranger to the president, appearing on the Celebrity Apprentice in 2008.

Country singer Trace Adkins wrote this song a couple days after the attacks. He doesn't perform it live except on the anniversary of 9/11. It happened that the anniversary fell in 2010 while he was doing a concert in Bristow, VA at the Jiffy Lube Center. This was the final song that evening. What Adkins does correctly point out is that the ongoing interpretation of the 10th amendment, a.k.a. "states' rights" issue has not been resolved. The federal courts quite frequently decide cases surrounding 10th amendment issues and interpretations. For those of us who are familiar with this topic, including very recent history, Adkins could not be more correct . . .

Before Tennessee Republican Fred Thompson began running for president, the South did not have a top-tier Republican candidate in the field — even though that region is fertile political ground for that party.
