Smith County, TX — Several burglars were caught in the act of stealing from a house on Wednesday afternoon. It happened on Smith County Road 4142 near Lindale, just after 1:00 p.m. “According to preliminary reports, the homeowner arrived at his residence and discovered five men in his home who were in the process of burglarizing it,” said John Moore, public information officer for the Smith County Sheriff's Office. An ex-Marine killed two coworkers and himself Friday morning after bursting through the glass windows of a closed New Jersey supermarket with an AK-47 and automatic handgun, officials said.

Tyler police are responding to reports of about 10 protestors at Chick-Fil-A on Troup Highway. Tyler Police Spokesperson Don Martin said that officers have been dispatched to the location due to one protestor's sign that could be deemed as offensive. TYLER — The new Sarah Palin movie opened in Tyler today. The film, The Undefeated, is a two-hour long documentary featuring Palin supporters, residents of Alaska and conservative bloggers. A TV station in the East Texas town of Tyler reports that hundreds more dead birds have been discovered along the sides of a highway bridge. This news adds fresh fuel to a growing conundrum over the cause of hundreds of thousands of avian deaths in localities thousands of miles apart. TYLER --- A lawyer is now involved in a dispute between the Oil Palace and the Health District, after weeks of notices and the possibility the venue could be shut down. Oil Palace owners say, if they want a legal fight, they'll give them one. It all started a couple of months ago when Glenn Beck came to town. A source close to the church arson cases tells KETK-TV arrests have been made. Those arrested are UT Tyler student Jason Bourque, 19, of Van and Daniel George McAllister, 21, (DOB 2-27-88) of Van. Bourque's address on jail records lists he is from Lindale but went to school in Van. Bourque's Facebook page shows he graduated from Van High School in 2008 and currently attends UT Tyler. A 16-year-old former juvenile detainee is accused of stabbing a high school teacher to death with a butcher knife. Another teen was convicted of killing a roofer during a 30-minute robbery spree.
