Imagine a newspaper editorial board calling a president "unfit to clean toilets" and then a few months later inviting that same president to write a guest column about the economy on that same editorial page. Say what? And if you find that disconcerting so did Jake Novak, a CNBC senior columnist until March, who took USA Today to task for that on Tuesday. Novak reminded USA Today that he criticized them for going way over the line back in December right after their unhinged attack upon Trump. Then he wondered how that same editorial board could have Trump write a guest column...

The most fundamental responsibility of government is to protect its citizens. This is an issue for all governors, but it has added meaning and complexity for border governors. … For years, Americans, particularly in border states such as Arizona, have been calling on the federal government to secure our border. It is frustrating to hear the rhetoric from the talking heads on cable news on this issue. Despite what some may say, our southern border is not secure. That is the truth, plain and simple. That is why I am grateful for this administration’s actions to address border security. The...

Baltimore’s highest-ever per capita homicide rate in 2017 also made it the deadliest big city in the country, USA Today reported Monday. Though official data from the FBI won’t be available until later in the year, USA Today reviewed the homicide rates in the nation’s 50 largest cities and Baltimore came out on top. The 342 homicides the city experienced in 2017 were a 17 percent increase over the prior year, and translated to a rate of 56 killed per 100,000 people. That easily outpaced New Orleans and Detroit, which both had about 40 killings per 100,000 people, according to...

USA Today and all other news outlets who aid and abet political opportunists, such as the Hillary Clinton-like Kirsten Gillibrand, should be judged for what they are: unprofessionally at work in the toilet known as today’s “journalism”. The ‘News’ is in the toilet and so are the minds of most elected Democrats. So why should anyone be surprised that the USA Today’s editorial board has issued a statement concluding that: “A president who would all but call Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand a # is not fit to clean the toilets in the Barack Obama Presidential Library or to shine the shoes...

USA Today isn't known for its blistering opinion pieces. Which makes the one the paper's editorial board just published on President Donald Trump all the more savage.

RUSH: Man, oh, man, a lot of crabby people out there. And I’m hearing from I don’t know how many, but it’s more than I can count. And I’ll share with you some of the crabbiness today. And there’s other stuff out there besides the crabbiness of the election. Here’s the phone number if you want to be on the program. 800-282-2882. Email address, ElRushbo@eibnet.us. The first crabby email. “Dear Rush: You know everybody’s blaming McConnell and everybody’s blaming Bannon, but I blame you. I don’t recall you ever endorsing Roy Moore. I don’t recall you ever urging people to...

A video posted by USA Today was criticized by firearm aficionados for its portrayal of the Ruger AR-556, the rifle that was reportedly used by a gunman to kill 26 people at a church in rural Texas. In the brief video, USA Today identified components of the rifle and attachments that the assault-style rifle can be equipped with, some of them rare and ineffectual, including what appeared to be a belt-driven chainsaw.

No doubt, that is pretty funny. But here is the thing: I don’t believe that there is a single person in the world dumb enough to seriously believe that anyone could, or would want to, attach a chain saw to the underside of a rifle and use it as a bayonet. Certainly no one who researched modifications to AR-15s–a subject on which a great deal has been written–would come up with a chainsaw bayonet. I think that some millennial employed (until now) by USA Today thought it would be funny to pimp his employer by including that laughable “aftermarket option”...

USA Today published a hit piece on the people who are members of Trump golf clubs. They want to punish ANYONE who is even remotely associated with the Trump family. USA Today doxed them. This is stalking. If you are associated with Trump they want you dead or punished. Susan Page the Washington Bureau Chief at USA Today praised the disgusting tripe disguised as journalism.

USA Today is touting a report out this morning that “ID’ed 4500 Trump golf-club members through” their social media accounts as well as an online service that lets golfers track their handicaps: Do they not see how awful this looks?

In the latest example of fake news, journalists on Thursday hyperventilated about a dramatic snub of Donald Trump by Poland’s first lady. Agata Kornhauser-Duda, it seemed, refused to shake the hand of the President. Except, that’s not what happened. Mere seconds after shaking Melania Trump’s hand, Kornhauser-Duda and the President shared a warm embrace. You wouldn’t know that from the coverage. Newsweek opted for this all-caps, blaring headline: “WATCH DONALD TRUMP HANDSHAKE REJECTED BY POLISH FIRST LADY IN HILARIOUSLY AWKWARD EXCHANGE.†Like it was grainy Bigfoot footage, the website even slowed down a shortened version of the footage to showcase...

A couple of years ago, our paper which serves two large counties, switched from doing its own national review of AP and other source stories and started using the USA Today national insert. People at that time objected because of the extreme left-wing slant of the USA Today staff, but the paper cited costs. Well, during the Presidential campaign, USA Today was in for Hillary with both feet. Then came all the 'fake news' and the chief editor of the paper is now asking the readers if we want to go back to the paper vetting the stories or keeping...

On Thursday, the U.S. military dropped a MOAB (Mother Of All Bombs) on an ISIS tunnel complex in Nangahar Province in Afghanistan. Shortly after that, USA Today posted a breathtakingly ignorant graphic purporting to show that the MOAB contained over 70 percent of the destructive force of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. This epic fail occurred even though the following comparison was known early on: The MOAB has the force of 11 tons of TNT. For comparison, the bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945 had the force of 15 thousand tons of TNT. The destructive force of the...

Earlier this month, Panthers tight end Greg Olsen explained the reluctance of NFL players to talk politics. Among other things, he expressed a concern that political comments would “be misinterpreted and then have your thoughts misconstrued for a catchy headline.” And so, of course, comments from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady on Tuesday’s PFT Live were misconstrued for a catchy headline at USA Today. {..snip..}

Image from eluniversal.com.mx On Wednesday, 16 November, 2016, John Lott testified before the Mexican legislature about the benefits of an armed population. He was invited by Senator Jorge Luis Preciado. A reform of the Mexican gun control laws is getting a serious consideration. On October 6, Senator Preciado published a policy recommendation to emulate the U.S. Second Amendment. This would not be simple legislation, but a change in the Mexican constitution. From John Lott: The last few days have been very exciting with me testifying before the Mexican Senate and House Constitution Committees as they consider changing the Mexican...

CNN and others, QUIT telling our leaders who to denounce or silence, etc. because we didn't vote for these people so YOU could tell them what to do and negate the results of the election. We voted to get something done about illegal immigration and their involvement and voting in our elections, which is something no other country would tolerate, not soft pedal it. We voted for a ban on muslim immigration and severe restrictions on what they can do while living here and the influence they can have (they hate us). We voted for fiscal responsibility. We voted for...

USA Today publisher Gannett, suffering from the ongoing print-ad declines that have hurt the broader newspaper industry, is cutting jobs as it reported a loss in its latest quarter. The company said it is cutting 2 percent of its staff. Gannett had nearly 19,000 employees at the end of 2015, suggesting more than 300 jobs were lost. Gannett spokeswoman Amber Allman did not reply to a question asking how many employees are losing their jobs. …

But Trump deserves it! It’s one thing when Trump says it, and it’s one thing when we say it. Michael Wolff is a longtime USA Today columnist and frequent media critic - and he’s no fan of Donald Trump, to put it mildly. He clearly sees it happening, not only in the usual media bias sense, but also at the unprecedented level we’re seeing this year. What’s more, Wolff freely acknowledges that standard media bias is liberal, although he argues that their interest in a competitive race usually blunts their bias. I’ve been hearing that one from media types for...

USA Today has never taken sides in a presidential race until they un-endorsed Donald Trump by recommending that people not vote for him. You would think this would make anti-Trump Erik Wemple of the Washington Post very happy. Instead Wemple is now in a panic mode. It wasn't enough for him that the USA Today editorial board recommended that people do not vote for Trump. What has Wemple really riled up is that they did not flat out endorse Hillary Clinton. Instead they recommended that people vote for anyone but Trump, including besides Hillary, Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, write-in candidates,...
