The Navy is hell-bent on adjusting job titles to suit gender equality, but the bureaucracy is stumped on changing the clerical position of “yeoman” and has mulled over alternatives like “yeo-person” and “yeo-specialist” as replacements. But up to this point, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Michael D. Stevens has rejected all these new alternatives to the administrative position of yeoman, The New York Times reports. As part of the effort to integrate women into all combat roles, the Navy has pushed to make job titles with the word “man” more gender neutral, preferring titles like “technician” and “specialist” over “rifleman,”...

In the early 1940s, the U.S. Navy still expected to need huge, first rate battleships to fight the best that Japan and Germany had to offer. The North Carolina, South Dakota, and Iowa-class battleships all involved design compromises. The Montanas, the last battleships designed by the U.S. Navy, would not.

This week the US Navy released some new guidelines concerning the wearing of tattoos. Like everything else in the Navy, like everything else in the US military, the policies are another indicator of the social changes which are turning the US Armed Forces into a three ring circus with weapons. According to Military.com, the new guidelines, which will go in effect on April 30th, set the Navy apart from the other military services in terms of permissiveness. They are an acknowledgement of a changing culture and a youthful population, officials said. Legalized pot is the sign of a changing culture...

NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries (ONMS) and the U.S. Navy announced on Wednesday the discovery of the wreck of USS Conestoga in the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary in California, solving one of the greatest maritime mysteries ever in U.S. Navy history.

The USS Conestoga left the Navy yard at Mare Island, Calif., on Good Friday, 1921, bound for Pearl Harbor, with a complement of 56 sailors. It cleared the Golden Gate at 3:25 p.m. and steamed into the Gulf of the Farallones in heavy seas. Conestoga was a rugged oceangoing tug that had once hauled coal barges for a Pennsylvania railroad. But 17 years after its launch in Baltimore, it had undergone hard use and had a reputation as a “wet boat,” one that shipped water easily. At 4 p.m. that day, as the San Francisco light ship recorded big waves...

The Navy is giving another chance to thousands of sailors who otherwise would be kicked out for repeatedly failing their physical fitness tests because they exceeded body fat limits. The service branch loosened its body fat restrictions in January and is allowing those who failed their exams three or more times to get one more opportunity to be tested this spring under the more lenient guidelines. The Navy said it has been losing too many talented sailors. Some were resorting to liposuction, diet pills and other measures to save their careers. The Navy allowed about 2,400 sailors who passed a...

It seems that nearly every week Iran is insulting, mocking, spitting on and embarrassing the United States of America. The idiots in the Obama Administration and the Commander in Fool himself actually believe that by cowering, groveling and apologizing to the Iranians on a constant basis, the Iranians will have a Come to Allah meeting and miraculously turn into our new best friends forever. Like all thugs from time immemorial, the only thing the Iranians understand is power and force, two things the US is not exhibiting under the Obama Administration. We are literally the weakling on the beach, getting...

Going back to the Battle of Midway and beyond, the United States aircraft carrier task forces have been the dominant power on the seas, and for good reason. When properly deployed and flanked by smaller, versatile warships, they provide the equivalent of a massive air base and marine troop deployment station which can be parked on the doorstep of any enemy. Unfortunately, their days of supremacy may be numbered, at least according to one recent report. (Washington Post) A report published Monday by the Center for a New American Security, a D.C.-based think tank that focuses on national security, claims...

During celebrations of the anniversary of Iran's Revolution, mock reenactments of the recent capture of ten U.S. sailors by the IRGC Navy were held throughout Iran. In footage of one reenactment, from Qazvin Province, shouts of "Death to America" are heard in the background, while U.S. "sailors" lie on the ground or kneel down, the U.S. and Israeli flags placed next to them.

It’s been another spectacular week for the Pentagon. From US Navy sailors crying in front of their Iranian captors to Pentagon climate change mandates and the Draft our Daughters bill proposed by Congressman Duncan Hunter, the US military is being tossed to and fro inside a White House snow globe. Our new best friend forever, Iran, released several pictures yesterday of an unidentified US Navy sailor bawling his head off like a overweight woman confessing her cookie eating disorder to Marie Osmond and Oprah. Seated next to the crying sailor was his commander, the Once and Future Chief of Naval...

For the first time, the military spouse of the year nominee at Naval Base Coronado is gay. "I was the kid who didn't want to be gay," Brian Alvarado said. "I was scared." But, there was no denying it. He met his husband, Matthew Alvarado, online two years ago. Matthew has been an active duty sailor for the past 17 years. "I'm proud that he put his head down and he did his work," Brian said. "He got his job done and he served his country, and he made it about the Navy and not about himself for 15 years...

Several sources confirmed to USNI News that the crews of the two boats, assigned to Coastal Riverine Squadron 3, had misjudged their location when they mistakenly strayed into Iranian waters off of Farsi Island in the middle of the Persian Gulf on Jan. 12 while trying to meet a ship for refueling. The sources said the mistake was a result of human error, not a failure in navigation systems.

The US navy on Wednesday launched its first carrier strike group powered partly by biofuel a mix made from beef fat, calling it a milestone toward easing the military's reliance on foreign oil. The maritime branch touted the warships as the centrepiece of its "Great Green Fleet" part of a navy-wide initiative that aims to draw 50% of its power from alternative energy in four years.

... The first report on the incident, released Monday, noted the loss. “A post-recovery inventory of the boats found that all weapons, ammunition, and communication gear are accounted for minus two SIM cards that appear to have been removed from two handheld satellite phones,†said the report from the U.S. Central Command. ... “Those SIM cards don’t just contain the satellite links,†he said. “They also include encryption codes, and otherwise unpublished data relating to specific orders and personnel,†he added. The former naval officer said those SIM cards should not have been allowed to fall into Iranian hands. .......

The following preliminary timeline of the events surrounding the Iranian detainment of 10 U.S. Navy Sailors from January 12-13, 2016, is based upon multiple operational reports received by U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) in the first 24-48 hours after the incident. A Navy command investigation initiated on Jan. 14, will provide a more complete accounting of events.

USDW has been inferring all along that the feminization of the military, the social engineering of the military, the cultural Marxism being injected into the military is going to pay dividends… Dividends for the enemy that is… USDW has been consistently reiterating that the Obama White House’s policies were going to create a military that will be thoroughly destroyed on the field of battle. Feminization, lowering standards, gender neutral operations, lactation and breastfeeding support memos, pregnancy simulators, transgenders in the ranks, openly gay military leaders, command hostility towards Christianity; it’s all creating a perfect storm of disaster heading directly in...

Here is what REALLY happened! The comment by Matt Bracken on the linked article at the bottom: "I rarely pull out my dusty old trident, but in this case, here goes. I was a Navy SEAL officer in the 1980s, and this kind of operation (transiting small boats in foreign waters) was our bread and butter. Today, these boats both not only had radar, but multiple GPS devices, including chart plotters that place your boat's icon right on the chart. The claim by Iran that the USN boats "strayed into Iranian waters" is complete bull$#it. For an open-water transit between...
