Almost a year after taking possession of Boston talk station WRKO (680) from Entercom, iHeart is beginning to put its own stamp on the schedule. Later today, NERW has learned, WRKO will announce a post-Thanksgiving schedule change that will move midday host Jeff Kuhner back to mornings, putting morning co-host Doug “VB” Goudey in middays and ending Kim Carrigan’s tenure with the station after three years.

I love Jeff's show, and it's an awesome alternative to the other 12:00 shows. And Jeff, who is grateful, has given Free Republic another yuuuuuge shout out on his show !. Very cool, imo.................but let that go :)

Jeff Kuhner of the Washington Times has done fill ins for people like Savage, as well as WRKO's Michele McPhee and Howie Carr. Now apparently he will have his own show on WRKO (don't know if this is nationwide for him or just RKO, weekdays 11 am till noon (680 AM in Boston, also wrko.com). In addition next week people across the country (via online etc.) will be able to hear him fill in for Howie Carr (3-7 pm weekdays) Tue Aug 21-Fri Aug 24, on WRKO and the other dozen or so stations of Howie's network. Former Speaker of the House Thomas Finneran said he’s leaving his post as a radio yakker on WRKO-AM, announcing on air this morning that Thursday’s show will be his last. Finneran said on the “Tom & Todd” morning show that he will be pursing other “plans and opportunities out there in the real world” and will sign off after Thursday’s show. He joined the station in February 2007. “We’re having a very amicable parting,” he said. WRKO-AM (680) has cut loose afternoon radio host Charley Manning because of less than stellar ratings, according to sources. Ex-WTKK-FM (96.9) nighttime host and Herald contributor Michele McPhee will take his place starting Monday. WRKO radio host Howie Carr has lodged a trio of complaints against the station with the state Attorney General’s office, seeking unpaid bonuses and a pay raise in the three years since his bosses thwarted his attempt to defect to rival WTKK. The Herald received the complaints from the Attorney General’s office under a Freedom of Information Act request. Carr declined comment this week.
