During a rally in Springfield, Mo., President Donald Trump called on Congress to reform the U.S. tax code, including the business tax, saying it puts American companies at a disadvantage compared to countries like China, the United Kingdom, and Canada, which have lower corporate tax rates. The United States is “dead last” when it comes to the business tax, the president said. We have gone from a tax rate that is lower than our economic competitors, to one that is more than 60 percent higher. We have totally surrendered our competitive edge to other countries. We have totally surrendered. We're...

Former national security adviser and UN ambassador Susan Rice refuses to go quietly into retirement, even though she remains one of the most controversial figures of the Obama Administration. Now, thanks to a glowing profile in New York Magazine, we know that despite Susan Rice’s very public shortcomings (whatever happened to that dastardly filmmaker who spurred violence across the Middle East, anyway?), she believes any criticism of her tenure is at least partly the result of racism and sexism.

After getting burned on a single-sourced story last week, CNN made some major internal changes to their reporting process. Three journalists involved in the retracted article resigned, and management imposed new restrictions on any reporting on Russian interference in the 2016 election. That’s not enough for Donald Trump, who took to Twitter this morning to complain about CNN’s performance on other stories: (tweet at link) Actually, the ratings are way up — and that might be part of the problem. Sanders and his wife have been trying to ignore the federal investigation since reporters for VTDigger, an online publication, confirmed the FBI’s involvement in April. The original request for an investigation into the potential bank fraud did indeed come from Brady Toensing, an attorney who chaired Trump’s Vermont campaign, and whose January 2016 letter to the U.S. attorney for Vermont put federal agents on the trail. The shooter was killed immediately.
