My wife’s uncle bought a Lucid EV. He paid $169,000.
I recently read every EV built by Lucid is built at a loss of $237,000.
Nothing can be commercially successful unless there is consumer demand sufficient to make something profitable to build.
This EV madness is coming to an end.
It was never about saving the planet. It was always about achieving absolute government control over our lives. The electric vehicle is a trap to destroy personal freedom. It always was. Limited range and central control over the ability to recharge puts people in a cage to limit their movement.
I like it too. There was a trend toward removing self-checkouts in a number of stores in my area back around 2018. The self-checkouts were replaced by a number of express lanes, few of which were ever actually staffed. A trip to the supermarket for a jug of milk usually resulted in a half-hour wait in the checkout line, where one was eventually rung up by some surly son of a bitch who resented having to actually work for a living. Within two years the self-checkouts were back.
Making a $90,000 pickup truck and expecting everybody to want one is similar to the homosexual who makes a homosexual romance movie targeted to homosexual audiences, who then complains that most people don't want to pay money to see a homosexual romance movie.
I wonder of she’s ever picked up a wrench.
The people who NEEDED an EV to be able to hold their noses up at others already have their EV. The other 98% of the country cannot see any practical value in an EV, versus a gasoline car.
——A significant lack of demand-—
What is presented as lack of demand is actually lack of saleable products. GM has no electric vehicles worth a damn and the public knows it
Teslas are selling
Ha, ha, ha........ Tesla is the EV business and is thriving
And...... what you wish is irrelevant. The market says differently
Maria Barra is a trader to her class! How dare she make forsake the state sanctioned religion for an intelligent business decision!
I’m staying ahead of the trend. I’ve moved to a “5-minute city” (aka “town”), and if they outlaw gas I’ll go straight to a bicycle (and I’ll still be 5 minutes from everywhere).
Now we still need to get more people to stop acting like obedient lemmings and showing their receipt at the door.
The moment I traded my money for your property, it became my property and you have no right to inspect my property. It’s mine, not yours.
Most of the people don’t matter
Tesla is selling to enough of the people to be very profitable.
Profits are what matters.
Tesla’s are the best selling cars in Europe. They are immensely profitable
Surprised Mary did not recognize that mental lightweights are running the Country, starting with Obozo and Biden.
At least Europeans have nuclear plants, which help with EVs.
You’re never going to be able to handle the masses having EVs without nuclear plants.
Barra is in panic mode. She knows she is in over her head and there is no solution to the GM dilemma
Amen
” A little nookie never hurt anybody” circa 1975 bumper sticker
Sometimes it’s better to stick with what works.
They never learn.
I wish Tesla would do what’s right...and give up the EV business.
********
There is a taste for Teslas, but not any of the other insipid offerings. Elon never meant for Tesla to take over; Tesla is intended as a niche car.
I’m hoping the bird and ocean life killing wind turbines will follow suit and be abandoned.

Amen my brother. And nuclear will come back.
GM hasn’t halted EV production.
They’ve extended the timeline for converting one of their factories to full time EV production.
New electric versions of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra that were supposed to be produced at Orion Assembly will be assembled at GM's Factory Zero in Detroit, the company said. Limited production of the Silverado EV is underway, while Sierra is scheduled to begin next year.
