Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

Frank’s glasses are half-framed, so it didn’t take too much to jiggle a lens loose. Hopefully he won’t do it all the time!

Mine was usually prompted by a hit in the face with a dodge ball or impacting with another human person. My mother had three of us in glasses, in school as well as herself and our “nanny.” I don’t know how she afforded it, except maybe it was because we didn’t all lose them at the same time.

What was bad was having to send them off for two weeks while the frames were re-fitted with new lenses!

Fun days, growing up!

I sat on a pair of glasses once. Frank has astigmatism, like Tom although not to the same extent, so he’ll be wearing glasses for the long haul.

Tom lost a lens during the overnight test for Wilderness Survival Merit Badge. “Did you look for it?” I asked when he got home from camp, and he just rolled his eyes and sighed.

That astigmatism is rough stuff. I have it in both eyes and when I was first fitted for contact lenses the doctor was afraid he wasn’t going to be able to help much because the astigmatism was so extreme. It went one way in one eye and the opposite way in the other eye.

So I began wearing glasses when I was seven. Technology has allowed me to have implants, now. Freedom!

Tom rolling his eyes is a prime example that we know our kids better than they do. Still, they manage to surprise us at times.

What a sweet long-haired floof!

Good morning. Did you have a good night?

I was going to sleep until 0500, but my kidney takes advantage of my prone position at night and works overtime. I don’t really need to be up this early, temple or not.

Unngh.

It’s 57° outside, 74° and will reach a high of 84° today. Maybe I’ll sit outside this afternoon! Sunday and Monday it won’t even reach 70°.

That’s OK...the days are warmer and I’ll start feeling like a hoomin bean in the not-too-distant future!

Good morning, and not bad, thanks. I’m taking some ladies from the church to a conference today, need to leave the house about 7:30. That gives me time to explain the rest of the schedule to DP.

Tom’s point was that he couldn’t look for his lens in the dark on the side of a mountain where he was building a survival shelter.

Like I said, sometimes, kids surprise us. It might be with their logic or it might be with their creativity. But we know from certain hints that they’ll grow up to be responsible, clever adults who will survive.

I’m headed for the shower in a minute. Tomorrow, I will sleep in!

It is possible that Tom will live up to his potential.

I won’t be around the rest of the day, so I hope you have a very successful trip to the Temple!

Good morning. Happy Friday!

It’s very rainy here. On the other hand the temps are in the 60s already so I’ll take it. The snow is almost completely gone. The lawn service tried to replace the sod that the plows scraped up. We’ll see how that goes.

I appear to be on a bit of a Wordle roll. Today I got a short, wide Christmas tree.

Wordle 1,028 3/6*

Good Friday Morning!

Seeing a lot more sun than was originally foreguessed... always a good thing in my book...

I was able to halve my Wordle score today, but my Christmas tree is a bit unbalanced...
