Homeowner Locked Out Of House Pleads with His Feline Companions To Let Him In
The Pet Zealot ^ | December 01, 2023 | James Alain L.

Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

LOL!

Loved the works of Mr. Schulz. I’m fortunate enough to live within rational driving distance of his museum, and seen much of his background material. Of interest, if you’re familiar with iconic scenes involving Snoopy and Woodstock, the museum is adjacent to an ice skating arena where local amateur teams play.

For my own part, I’m more along the lines of Jacob: “The days of my sojourn upon the Earth have been few, and evil, and I have not attained to the stature of my Fathers.”

CRAZY weekend. Rainy Saturday. Much nicer Sunday. Except...

Mom fell Saturday night and broke her hip.
Wasn’t a bad break, so surgery was only 2hrs Sunday.
Over an hour away.
They expect she’ll be back on her feet tomorrow.

She fell getting out of bed and was on the floor so fast she couldn’t articulate what actually happened. Short term memory is getting spotty. As for things in her youth, her mind is like a steel trap: names, places, events, curious vignettes...

Wordleball today...
Took a strike on the first pitch.
Two balls outside.
Then clocked it into the pocket in deep right field for a stand-up double.

Just had to call an ambulance for a site employee, possible stroke.
Left side involvement, inability to move left arm, leg, face droop.
No word on status.
Hope and pray we got the ambulance to him fast enough.

Oh, dear. It does sound like a stroke.

Thanks much.
He drove in, was in pretty rough shape when he arrived.
He had to have been in the stroke for at least the last ten to fifteen minutes prior to getting onsite.
Calling 911, gave them express instructions to come to the truck exit.
They showed up at the entrance instead.
They get to the exit and were initially like “why didn’t you transfer him to the entrance”.
Then they saw what I saw.
Three second evaluation said “hey, this is critically bad”.

I was a soldier once, people shooting at me, explosions, etc I can handle.
But a stroke, an invisible thing that short circuits literally everything that makes you who you are, the fact that all I could do was call 911 made me feel so utterly out of place and unhelpful.

This is the third stroke victim I’ve seen over the past twenty years.
Second one in the past ten.
It doesn’t get any easier.

He kept trying to move his left arm and all he ended up doing was moving his right hand.
He’d said something about sneezing “just a bit ago”.

Same.
It’s horrible to say but I hope it was a stroke and not an aneurysm since he said he’d sneezed.
With an anny, the time lost with the ambulance wandering around would cost us.
They also took their time onsite evaluating him.
Yes, take vitals and such but just a three second look at his motor coordination and mobility said “we have a need for speed”.

There are times when you need the ambulance fast. You’d think, in these modern times, we could figure out where we’re at a little faster.

My goodness.

I’m so sorry for your mother, HK. It’s scary when we do that because we have no control. I hope she mends quickly!

I’m very sorry about your co-worker. That has to be a scary experience, to be so close, know what is happening and not be able to do anything about it. I hope the medicos can reverse or minimize the damage.

You did what you could and got him the medical help he needed, so please don’t feel guilty or inadequate. I hope someone like you is around if that ever happens to me!

Sorry about the fall. M-I-L went through that a while back. But she didn’t need surgery, just several weeks in a rehab facility. They said later her bones healed like she was a 12-year-old girl. Hopefully your mom will have the same outcome.

Not that M-I-L’s arthritis in her hips was improved, but that would have been too much to expect.

Looks like mama was a gal about town, what with all those different babies.

Good morning. I hope you slept well.

It’s 45° out, and 68 in here and I can hardly wait for warmer days. It will be close to 90° on Friday, and for that, I’m grateful! The heat is coming!

I’ll call AAA about 0730, and do as little as possible once I get home, because I have an appointment at 1830 this evening, then there’s the pain clinic in the morning.

I wanted to sleep another hour, but that would have rushed me through my breakfast and saying “hello” to all the Ganag and it just wasn’t worth it.

Now I need to get dressed so I can be somewhat warm!

I take Vitamin D3, and I would urge all of you to do the same, as it fights off osteoporosis, which is the major factor in hip breaks and how quick they heal. Or not.

My bone density was falling at one time and I was prescribed Fosamax. I can’t take most prescription drugs because of the side-effects being so severe with me, so I asked for an alternative: D3. My bone density has improved and I only take it 2-3 times a week.

I also have been on a baby aspirin a day for longer than I’ve had CFIDS, and I would recommend asking your doctor about taking it. I’m sure it’s what has kept me from stroking out.

Good morning. Happy Twosday.

With people falling and breaking bones and co-workers having strokes, I think I’ll minimize any complaining today.

Mrs. ArGee hasn’t been feeling well for the past 3 days. She thinks it’s sinus but she also says her whole body aches. I hope she’s not deluding herself.

This morning she’s taking the Princess (who had her 4th birthday yesterday) to the vet. We’ll see if her liver is stabilizing on the home-cooked meals.

Still doing average on Wordle.

I’m sorry Mrs ArGee isn’t feeling well. That “achy-bone” feeling is the worst feeling ever. I hope she feels better soon.

Happy (late) Birthday to the Princess! Four years??? Wow! Time flies!
