a correction to the article - Cabbage rolls DO use meat. Typically the filling consists of ground meat mixed with rice.

Again, media only mentions Teslas.

How badly are the other auto makers’ EVs doing? Layoffs and plant closings to come if they depended upon EV sales and government aid. Only goes so far.

I wouldn’t mind having a small EV for flitting around town if

it was a second car
a real 200 mile range
about $20k
insurance wasn’t 3x what my regular car was
I didn’t have to worry abound burning down my house
didn’t have to spend an extra $1-2 grand on a home charger
had some resale value

Tesla is giving customers as much value as possible for their customers and has a stated corporate goal to get their price down to $25,000. Hertz just realized the 100k units needed to shelved 3 years to make it viable as rentals.

As much as I think electric vehicles are not the best answer, they will become 25% of sold due to city’s making them best there.

I saw used Teslas on for sale from one of the big rental companies and they were 2021 and 2022 models with around 100k miles for about $22,000. I wouldn’t buy a car that was guaranteed to need $15-$20k replacement batteries in 100k miles.

Betcha anyone who”s ever had to replace their cordless drill battery cringe’s at the thought of replacing one for a dang car. Many times I’ve just thrown the whole shebang away and buy another drill kit on sale cheaper than the replacement battery.
Have a closet full of printers that just need new ink cartridges but a new printer with ink was cheaper.
