I've been freeping, and the TV's in the other room.
I just got up and caught the last 15 or so seconds of Huckabee, and I just saw Chris Squire and Alan White of Yes playing "Owner of a Lonely Heart!"
What's going on here!?!?!?! Did Yes play a set? I know it wasn't Jon Anderson singing...
Like I said, I only caught about 15 seconds of it before the TV show ended, but I saw Chris playing Mike's Tobias bass.
So, anyone who saw the show, did Yes actually play? IIRC, Jon Anderson isn't able to sing right now due to serious health problems, and Rick Wakeman wasn't able to tour either, due to his heart condition.
As A HUGH Yes fan, do I need to make sure I catch the entire show?
Thanks!
Mark
Yes.

I need to know too - I’m also a HUGE Yes fan! Does Huckabee come back on tonight?
They only played one song. I wasn’t watching but had the TV on and was amazed at how good they sounded.
Yes, please! Many of us are Close To The Edge of our seats with anticipation (and some "other" things, too, after this election... /grin)!
Please say it wasn’t Trevor Rabin singing. yuck.
Maybe Huckabee is not so bad if he like progressive rock.
The regular singer has been replaced with somebody from Canada. The regular singer has some sort of respiratory problems. Huck didn’t play, because the YES guitar guy is a bass player. Obviously, I don’t know much about YES. I had to leave the room because my 22 month old g’baby was pulling me out for “cookies.” They sang, backed up by the Little Rockers (or whatever that band is called.)
They played Owner of a Lonely Heart. The lead singer for Yes is out because of respiratory issues.
Chris Squire saw this guy on Youtube from Montreal...he called the guy up and asked him to stand in as the lead singer for their current tour...pretty cool indeed.
That is very cool. I saw them in 1981 in Minneapolis, awsome show with a round stage.
2:00 AM EST replay
Chris Squire plays a pretty good Amazing Grace on the bass.
Huckabee has a good show (except for the bill maher interview!).
I didn’t see this one, but will a later replay:
2:00 A.M. Eastern (Sunday)
or
8:00 P.M. Eastern (Sunday)
I hope you’re right. That show will be on again tomorrow night and I’ll be sure to watch. I have every single album from the debut through Magnification. One of my favorite bands for sure!
I know... Jon Anderson has never quite recovered from the strains of the last tour, and as the most recent tour was about to begin, he went into respritory failure. If you check his web site, you'll see that his feelings are really badly hurt that they're doing the tour without him.
There was also hope that if Yes were to take a "leisurely tour," sort of taking it easy, that Rick Wakeman would be able to go out as well, but the band and management decided to do a tour as if they were still in their 20s and 30s! So Rick Wakeman had to bow out due to health concerns (he's had a serious heart condition for a number of years now), and his son is set to tour with Yes in his place.
I've had plans to see Yes 6 times now over the years, but have only managed to see them twice due to circumstances beyond my control - including the time the roof of Kemper Arena in KC caved in and Yes had to cancel back in the 1970s! But they're my all-time favorite band. I really wish that I could have seen them on their Union tour.

I saw them “in the round” as well...many years ago.
:)
Yea I saw them in Boston around 94-96ish.
Same round revolving stage.
Everybody had great seats!
Show was awesome.
It was either Boston Garden or Providence Civic Center can’t quite remember.
I would have to dig into my old stub collection to find that out.
Man they look old ( yeah I know, they are...and so are we but.. you know.
For anyone who missed it, it was a bit of a disappointment for me, but still not too bad.
It was Chris Squire, Alan White, and the new vocalist, Benoit David. Steve Howe and Oliver Wakeman did not appear. They jammed with 2 guitarists from “The Little Rockers,” which I would imagine was quite a thrill on “Owner of a Lonely Heart.” I really think that this wasn’t pre-planned, since they weren’t using their own instruments - Chris was playing Mike’s Tobias bass. Lauren Green was NOT playing, there was no keyboardist... Bummer. They didn’t quite get through the entire song before the show ended.
I’m not really sure how I feel about Yes replacing Jon Anderson for the “In the Present” tour, as it’s now known, vs the “40th Anniversary Tour,” which was canceled back in June. As I posted earlier, I do know that Jon Anderson’s feelings were badly hurt, as he expressed them on his web site. The guy seems to be pretty good, but there’s something not quite right to me about his vocals. But Yes has been without Jon on tours and albums before...
Anyway, it was nice to see Chris and Alan playing together again. And yes, they DO look old... Given that Chris is 60 and Alan is 59. And so am I. We are all getting old :-(. Jon is sidelined, as is Rick with a heart condition, and I recently heard the same about Carl Palmer (ELP and ASIA), having recently had heart surgery as well.
Finally, when introducing the three, Mike botched Chris’ name - BADLY! I believe that it was from nerves, since he had credited Chris as being a major influence on bass for him.
