Sorry I'm a day late.
This is reputedly (see link in first comment) the highest cliff in Europe. To which I ask: none higher in the Alps? (Maybe the highest SEA cliff.)
TOPICS: Arts/Photography; Education; Science; Travel
KEYWORDS: cliff; faroe; islands; scotland
Cliff
I think for next week's picture I'll look up the Troll Wall in Norway because the picture doesn't work in the NationMaster link and I'm bushed.

Thanks for the Troll Wall. I’ll try to find more tomorrow. It’s a neat place too.

I have read that the longest sheer drop in Great Britain is on the Island of St. Kilda. A 1400 ft. drop to the sea. Interestingly the second longest is on the Island of Foula which is only 9ft less.
Interesting because Foula was the site of a movie about St. Kilda, titled, “The Edge of the World”.

One of the ski magazines (a few years back) had an article about Rick Sylvester’s stunt where he played James Bond in this scene. The location was Baffin Bay in Canada.

Could well be. The island is apparently part of a volcanic chain. Those layers are almost certainly solidified lava flows.
