Hours were known, at least, and signals for when a new hour began.

However, as the Son of God, the creator of space and time, He’d be hearing from the Father about what time to be in. He’d be on top of it right away, and would never forget. He might even make remarks about being slaves to a clock.

Yes... I know I understate. That’s the only way the Trinity could work.

Jesus wasn't a clock watcher.

Usually.

No where in the Bible do angels produce music. Doesn’t’ mean they can’t.

If David is available, Jesus might call on him to play.

There are suggestions of it, such as the sound of harpists harping on their harps heard from heaven. And the calling one to another “holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts — the whole world is full of His glory” is in classical antiphonal form. If it is not music, it is something greater, not less, than music as we know it.

Some Christians straitjacket their thoughts so tightly to the beggared view of the bible they allow themselves to recognize, that they can’t recognize what would cause those straitjackets to go away, poof.

That is an interesting song.

I never heard of Daniel Levy or Ronnie Hauser though.

That reminds me of one my favorite hymns.

Holy, Holy, Holy

And the ancient temples had large bands or orchestras. It wasn’t just David, even though the other musicians went anonymous.

Music as we know it is something that is for man’s benefit. We already have copious proof that it’s imperfect, as the widespread Western use of the equal temperament scale proves. It’s close enough to evoke the ideal in our heads and allow playing in any key (which makes many musical effects possible that would not otherwise be possible), while not being mathematically exact. What tuning system did David use — I do not know.

Who were the harpists harping on their harps? All we know from the bible is that it emanated from heaven, the place where perfection exists. So there’s nothing to say whether it was saints, or angels, or even both.

“Another product I wonder about is the portable radio.”

That’s interesting. I haven’t used one in years, and don’t really see them advertised anymore. Does anyone still use ‘boom boxes’?

“Jesus looked up...2:10 he said. Everyone understood.”

And John said 3:16.

Circumstances and witnesses strongly suggest that both evil and righteous angels understand and respond to music.

What role angels might take in the performance of music, it is true we are not told in scripture, as many other things we are not told. Perhaps it is for our good in the Lord’s wisdom that we aren’t told, for we might be led down rabbit trails of prideful knowledge about what music is angelic and what music isn’t, forgetting the Lord in the process. Do something unto the Lord, and the concern about the consequences in the angelic realm stops.

I suppose my beggared view causes me not to ad lib possible scenarios not spelled out in the Bible, like ‘Mary remaining a virgin to death’ or ‘no tears is Heaven’ or ‘angels singing’ among so many non existent Bible facts.

Looks like strong global growth in Swiss watch sales since 2000. In 2018 the Swiss watch industry had its best first quarter ever in the US market.

The reason I suggested David is that he is mentioned as a fine musician when he performed for King Saul, and he is credited for the penning of so many beautiful psalms.

A voice sounding like harpists playing their harps is descriptive of the heavenly voice heard. No angelic harpists harping on harps found.

I tend to go with your “Music as we know it is something that is for man’s benefit.” but who knows for certain? We can enjoy music here and now, and then only wonder what awaits us in eternity, with His guarantee that it’s great.

I doubt it. I think the boom box sorts are now into fancy headphones to use with their cell phones or other small music players.

I haven't noticed recently whether stores still have displays of any sort of portable radio. Think I'll look next time I'm in a Walmart or other store that sold such in the past.

I've seen Bluetooth speakers advertised as providing dance quality sound for indoors or outdoors.

$1,000 plus Swiss watches doing well. I wonder if kids with cell phones are into watches?

They pushed the rock away and there was Jesus... he was looking at his Rolex and smoking a cigarette.

Since Jesus created time, I doubt he has need of a man-made Gizmo. Folks need to ask relevant questions or else accept coming off as ignorant and condescending.

John 1:1 etc.
