With a gang of feral teens anything might have happened before the video was shot. What if he was attempting to rescue someone with his “ break it up”.
We are all shocked when we read about bystanders not assisting a person in need. Do you know if that was the case? I don’t and without more information I won’t judge him in light of the rowdy gang.

How did my narrative change? I said long ago that no one, that would include you, have any idea what occurred in the seconds/minute leading up to the camera being turned on. The camera was clearly turned on while the incident was already in progress. No? Not to mention there were reports there was fighting or a fight and the adult intervened or was somehow involved.

Many people are filling in the blacks with their own biases.
As yet we don't know how he got into the predicament but we do see the young girl engage the man twice.
He did not randomly push and punch a passive bystander.
I think he was either coming or going from the mall with his family and decided to intervene in someone else’s beef. I say this because at the beginning of the video he yells ‘break it up’. Then, at the 4-6 second mark, HE IS THE FIRST ONE to lay hands on someone (probably the girl who them pushed him) when he spins someone out of the way, seemingly to confront someone else who I’m guessing yelled a profanity at him.

these are not the kind of 12 yro’s that most of us older people remember....playing kick the can and climbing trees for fun.....innocent and respectful to parents and teacher and other adults...

I saw something (don’t have audio) that needs to be explained, namely why were the kids already getting their videophones out before the man/girl and their final tangle?
I saw the girl bull-rush him and his punch, but there was something else going on before that which is why the kids were already videotaping the event.
If she hit him first, then she’s guilty of assault and battery and when she charged him (i.e. perhaps the second assault), he had ever right to deck her (i.e. defend himself).
There is a lot more to this story. As a former street reporter I can vouch for that.
Let’s wait and see what “witness” statements say, as well as other tapes and comments by members of his family.
Now I’m waiting for the black scum ambulance chasers and agitators to fly in or come in by dog-sled (Sharpton, Jessie J, Sheila Lee Jackson, April Whoever from Florida, Cummings, Johnson, etc).
Be prepared for a “beat down on whitey” even if the white guy was legally defending himself.
MSNBC and CNN will make up the news until the truth comes out, and if the “truth” favors the guy, they will “can” it as in “File 13”.
