DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines Police are investigating after a crowd of roughly 20 juveniles allegedly attacked a couple after they left a hockey game Saturday night.
The victims, a Des Moines man and his girlfriend, told police they were walking home through the skywalk an elevated passageway connecting buildings downtown following an Iowa Wild game at Wells Fargo Arena when they came upon a large group of juveniles near the downtown YMCA.
They saw a bunch of juveniles gathered in a location and something about what they were doing didnt seem right and she simply asked them 'hey, are you guys OK,' and for whatever reason that aggravated the group and they ultimately started to attack those two, Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek said.
According to a police report, a witness said there was a group of about 20 juveniles that brutally attacked the man, repeatedly kicking and punching him. The woman also had minor injuries.

Feral animals who are pack hunters. They should be put down like rabid dogs.
More products of Martin Luther King’s Dream. Is this what he had in mind?
Why we carry.
This ‘white privilege’ and ‘white guilt’ narrative is everywhere. It's on the news, it's in the literature, it's in movies and television, it's taught from early education on - and at the universities, it's spouted by politicians and liberal activists ubiquitously, and it's codified in movements like ‘Black Lives Matter’.
It's not an innocuous narrative. It's a simplistic, hateful, racist narrative that has and will continue to lead to violence and hatred. It has to be challenged, and it has to stop.
the newspapers KNOWINGLY avoid stating who are the
perps, and therefore are encouraging more attacks
and murder.
The scum was starting to spread back when Harold Knight called Des Moines a "jungle" and the Register's lightweight lefty Donald Kaul jumped ugly on him, thus putting Kaul's career into third gear. The DM city manager (basically a form of "progressive" city government, BTW) at the time was a rock of jello and the chief of police would not deal with - or really acknowledge -the nascent gang activity. That was 40 years ago.
From Burlington to Sioux City, most city governments in Iowa these days will just tell you to "move along, there's nothing to see here." There is plenty to see, as this couple found out.
Those zany teens
Actually Im beginning to think this is EXACTLY what Martin King intended. But demonstrably its the unintended consequences.
“Why we carry.”
Exactly!
Yep. Just some teens dressed in black face, trying out their Halloween costumes.
Stupid couple to even engage with them. Do today’s milquetoast whites have no sense of self preservation?

Juveniles - did the witness check their IDs to see that they were all under the age of 18 or what?
Would a witness even use the word juvenile? I doubt it.
Teens, young guys, boys etc would be more common.
Blacks and hispanics running together? Doubtful.
Meanwhile, muslims come in a variety of shades. Is there a muslim “refugee” settlement nearby?
It’s not a real well kept secret around here. Avoid enclosed parking lots, skywalks, elevators etc. Stay out of downtown areas unless there is a critical mass of tourists, residents, and others with purposeful reason for being there. It’s reached the point where it’s no exaggeration to say decent law-abiding people are hunted in many inner city environments.

Knuckleheads.
The problem is that going to a downtown sports event, theres typically just enough kabuki security to get into the event that you can’t carry. I know it works that way around here, not sure about Des Moines but suspect the same.
This should be repeated often.
Not only would I have not engaged them, I would have turned around and returned to where I started.
They need be armed with MP-5s.
