I’m frankly a little confused about recent events.

Death rate yesterday (per worldometer) was quite high — highest in almost two months. And the new obligatory phrase is “it’s going to get worse before it gets better”.

We have good weather and we have increased herd immunity. Some stuff has opened up but as far as I know most of the country is still somewhat locked down and not really behaving like “normal”. So why does this seem to be getting worse? Makes no sense to me.

I’m just thinking out loud but anything he says now has the potential in winding up as an election eve ad against him so he has to be careful. If he said something like, “The worst is over’ and then deaths continue to grow, that would be a problem.

He should focus on the fact that it is currently killing less than the flu During flu season. The message should be - “we beat this!” He should direct the CDC to say that the epidemic is over, which is true according to their own definition of epidemic. In November people can choose between Flubro/Trump and Biden with his masks for ever approach.
