I had recommended DuckDuckGo to my friend as a better search engine because supposedly it did not track you like Google did. But now I find out that DDG depends on an Amazon platform or something, and that it DOES store some of your information. Is there a better search engine that truly does not track you? I will relay any info garnered here to my friend, and possibly incorporate it myself. Thanks.
“Brave is a Search Engine, not a Browser.”
The other way around.
Computeractive is a very good magazine but you can’t read any of their articles online. I have to download the entire magazine then summarize it.
Ah yes, the weekly “I hate DDG because my grandma’s friend’s neice said they are in bed with google!” thread. Posted by someone without the skills or courtesy to actually do some research first.
And once again we’ll show DDG is very good and has excellent privacy, but the rumor patrol of retards will say, “but my grandma said...and I trust her. (plugging fingers in ears) blah blah blah I can’t hear you...”
A similar crowd here claimed Parler was Chinese, 5G will give you cancer, the military has the watermarked servers (or whatever), and GM foods will make you grow a 3rd eye.
Peace.
On a related note: I just switched to the “Brave” browser, and it is equal or better compared to Chrome and Firefox.
I highly recommend.
Bttt
I think you got it backwards, though I tend to think it was a typo and you knew that :D. Brave is a browser and a good one. Brandon Eich is one of the founders of Brave. He developed javascript worked with Netscape and Mozilla. He was forced out at as CEO of Mozilla in 2014 over his opposition to same-sex marriage.

I have been using DDG for years. after the election their results have been identical to Google. They have sold out. For example, search “election fraud arrests” and all you see are dozens of results saying there is no evidence, “baseless” claims, and Biden is the most beloved human being since Saint Obama of Kenya. I scrapped them for thor. It’s a start.
Try Right Dao.
The real problem is a whole lot of things use the amazon cloud.

Actually, Brave is a browser, based on Chrome. The default search engine is DDG, but that is easily changed. They also give you the choice of using Quant, Yahoo, Google, and Startpage. (I chose Startpage, and removed the rest.) I abandoned Firefox recently after the comments by the Mozilla CEO, and abandoned DDG after looking at where it sends its corporate donations. Brave appears to be fast, and its Private Browsing function lets you use TOR for even more untraceability. It is also compatible with the Chrome plugin for Enpass, the password manager. I’m running it on four platforms now, one of them being Ubuntu Linux. Liking this combination alot!
Forgo the concerns of selecting the right browser and the right search engine.
Your perceived sense of privacy goes no further than to shield you from the Social thugs that now plague virtually every corner of our existence.
Just be responsible in your rhetoric.
>> Actually, Brave is a browser, based on Chrome.
Yup, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
>> TOR for even more untraceability
True, but not beneficial. Any near-symmetric activity renders the technique useless. Furthermore, the use of these “invisible” channels only invites suspicion.
You’re full of it - I just did “election fraud arrests” search on DDG and found a load of stories on said arrests.
Yes. I use the brave browser and it not only blocks ads but you can set up very aggressive tracking blockers as well. Then you can use Google without being tracked.
Go to Brave.com as your search engine.
Same there...Brave + DDG but I’m agile if they go traitor.
