“But officer, I was trying to go to Richmond, Kentucky but ended up in Richmond, Virginia”!

I have two vehicles. Neither a nuclear created nor a solar EMP, of any strength, would do anything at all to them.

It’s a monad. As Leibniz said, “monads have no windows.”

Then they are either vintage or some sort of demilitarized vehicle.

This is the car meeting that former description that I’d want:

That was supposed to take you to a picture of a mid century Buick Roadmaster fast back sedanette — gorgeous cars — but the link isn’t working.

With self driving cars the cops can redirect the vehicle to drive right into the prison and with no windows you won’t know till the deep state has already disappeared your can,

I’m afraid the link won’t open for me.

As for mine; ‘59 Chevy Apache 3/4 ton w/’62 327 cid motor and fully enclosed steel utility box.

‘93 Subaru wagon (little POC but runs good, decent mileage)

Basket case ‘49 1/2 ton Chevy (makes three vehicles if I got around to bolting it back together)

Ah, straight 8! Sweet. I used to know a mechanic who owned one. His father had worked the line at Buick making them and he just loved it.

He used to leave it running outside the cafe here and you could walk right by it and not hear it running. If it was cold out you could see the very slightest amount of exhaust puffing out of the tailpipe.

He used to do the work I couldn't on my '59, like king pins. That was over 30 years ago and he taught me things about that truck that most young mechanics then had never heard of.

As best as I can recall it looked just like this '47 ...

Like that second post said, didn’t realize the link wouldn’t work till I posted.

The 93 may still have a computer. The others are certainly safe but you may need to put an emf cage around your batteries to be sure.

That’s too bad. I have room for one in the cab of my truck so I can’t give most of you a ride. :)

AFAIK the ‘93 doesn’t have a computer but I was looking a minute ago at ignition parts and the coil may be a problem. Not sure.

Batteries, eh? I didn’t think a lead-acid battery would be affected by EMP. Thanks for the head’s up!

I think the problem, on further reflection, may be more because the battery is in a potentially active circuit rather than just being there. So maybe disconnect the posts on the battery of a reserve vehicle?

Old school diesels. Run them on cooking oil if you have to.

So you are saying the battery isn’t what is subject to damage but rather electrical components in the vehicle? Would that be just a computer or other sensitive electrical components? Or all?

I have to keep the batt. cables off on the ‘59 as it is. Got an electrical leak somewhere I haven’t been able to trace.
