I need advice and protection, because I get stalked and tracked daily in Southern California.
I would start varying your routes to different places. Change the church or time you go there, work etc. and you might look into getting your car checked for an Apple tracking device.
You might want to carefully reconsider the gun option.
If someone gets shot and you cannot prove the person was stalking you or threatening your life, you will be in a gated community for an extremely long time.
Thank you. I have your list, cgbg, and shall give it to my private investigator next week. Stalking them back seems risky. A nut? I wish I was imaging this whole thing, but it is real, repeated and alarming. Concerning the Kink’s song, my problem is real and not imaginary. Yes, going to the shooting range will help. Yes, stalker is mentally ill and belongs in jail or a group home. Yes, document everything. I am a guy and this is a real problem. I wish I had the skills and back up of Reacher. Persevero’s counsel to get someone to live with me is excellent. Yes, the local sound shop found nothing when they looked for a tracking device.
The old joke is that even paranoids sometimes have people out to get them.

If it were me I would hire the private investigator, get the dossier and distribute copies, file the formal police report, and move far away—first.
If it turned out to be nothing—no real harm done. Friends and family could have a good laugh over it in future years.
There was a local guy around these parts that would stalk women—he was very shy and had poor social skills and did not know how to approach them.
He never actually harmed anybody but he freaked out a bunch of them. Several of the women filed solid police reports with license plates and pictures and eventually the cops charged him and got him off the street for a few years.
It happens.
I was stalked.
Changed my life.
Move.
Great.
The cops respond well to fully documented and calmly presented evidence—the more details the better.
If you treat them as professionals they will treat you with respect as well.
1) Install a dash cam in your car,
2) Wear a body cam at all times,
3) Hire a private detective,
4) Continue to document and tell several friends what’s going on,
5) Ask a friend to follow you as well,
6) Change up your routes and daily schedules as much as possible,
7) Is it possible these people simply work and live near where you work and live and this is a weird coincidence?
8) Go for the concealed carry license, learn how to use the weapon, practice a lot.
9) If attacked, do as already suggested and fight back as though your life depends on it as it probably will.

I can’t give advice on that. However, I know what I would do.
Just a thought. Can you have a pet at your home? Guard dog comes to mind. Maybe a German Shepherd or Doberman? I’d do that before I brought an unsuspecting human in to be a roommate.
P.S. Train the dog and take it with you wherever you can.

So perhaps a trusted friend or family member or two could stay with him/her for a week or two and help assess whether the threat is indeed serious or if paranoia in some form has set in.
As I read the original post, my initial thought was also some sort of psychotic episode, perhaps a nervous breakdown, which often produces acute paranoia. This does not mean that Falconspeed is a bad person, but perhaps -- just perhaps -- there is another issue going on.
I witnessed two people have a nervous breakdown, one in college and one in law school. They were both overstressed due to academic overload and other things going on in their lives, and both were convinced they were being stalked. They both dropped out of school although one of them returned the next year. I also had a good friend (now deceased) who became increasingly paranoid in her late thirties. She was convinced that her husband hired someone to stalk her and that the stalker deliberately pushed her off a trail while skiing, causing her to break her leg. Her paranoia became so debilitating that she was institutionalized off and on for several years. I later found out that her father also suffered from paranoia as an adult.
On the other hand, perhaps Falconspeed is being followed. I would like to know whether he is involved in a personal injury lawsuit or recently filed for or is receiving unemployment or disability insurance. If so, then the stalker could be a private investigator.
Don’t things like this happen whenever the Free Republic support marathon is running?
I’ve found that a monthly donation seems to eliminate these kinds of incidents...
At least for those suspicious “black” vehicles the FBI drives...

So then, you don’t know these people. As you state later, you’re guessing.
If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t think these people were stalking me. I wouldn’t even notice them, unless I had reason to believe someone was following me.
Here are some other possibilities to consider:
You say the stalking has happened “over a hundred times for over a year.” Have you been robbed or attacked in all that time?
If not, then maybe these people just happen to be in the same place at the same time.
Maybe the security guards in your gated community watch everything that’s going on, as part of their job?
If you are being followed, then why?
Maybe security IS watching you because you’ve complained to them about stalking, so they’re watching to see if anyone is stalking you?
Or, might the police (or security) suspect you of illegal activity?
About the gas station and the coffee shop...
Might these people have simply been parking there at the same time?
Or, if they were acting suspiciously, maybe they were drug dealers waiting for customers. While waiting, maybe they were watching you watch them?
Might someone (such as an ex) have hired a private investigator?
There are a myriad of possibilities...

Don't be so sure about that. I happened across a website where someone had been stalked by Federal authorities, and had very convincing evidence.
It's not surprising, given how we are becoming a lot like East Germany.

Falconspeed: My family goes back to California as early as the eighteen thirties when we bought hides in Alta California which were then sold in New England to shoemakers. Family members have been city, county and state officials. Family has farmed from Bakersfield to San Jose. There is every reason for me to love the place. Nevertheless, I left and will never return. Please, for your own sake, do the same.
