Morford: America Loves Kinky Sex
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | Wednesday, December 1, 2004 | Mark Morford

Posted on 12/01/2004 6:07:56 AM PST by presidio9

Here's my suggestion: let them have it. Just do it. Let the sexually bitter and morally frantic conservative groups now dictating governmental policy and FCC agendas and paranoid media attitudes have their time, their brief cultural burp, their little speed bump on the great and beckoning highway that will still lead us all, inexorably, irreversibly, though often agonizingly, toward grinning open-thighed progress.

Because here's the fabulous thing: no matter what these faux-Christian groups do, no matter how hard they oppress and protest and clamp down, this is a road that leads, despite all dour headlines and sour prognostications otherwise, toward spiritual illumination, toward awareness, toward sexual openness and same-sex marriage and revelatory sodomy and free vibrators for teenage girls and lesbians kissing open mouthed in the streets. In Kentucky. In the daytime. On Sunday.

It's true. All this and more, is gonna happen. This is my belief. Superlative homemade pornography and fetish dungeons and happy dildo supermarkets and the utter brilliance of the Suicide Girls and regular people having juicy consensual reasonably kinky respectful sex like it's no big deal, and it's all a matter of time, isn't it, before it will all erupt back to the surface of the culture and spread like hot karmic butter across the land. Maybe? You think?

And when that time comes, we shall look back on Janet Jackson's Nipplegate and the Monday Night Football backlash and the shrill outcry from various conservative and religious groups against the superlative movie "Kinsey" in the same way people look back on old bunions or leg warmers and laugh and point and shake their heads and sigh.

Because right now, we seem to be stuck. Mired. Hateful and narrow and sexually small and the country is right this minute being led, morally speaking,

on the great and beckoning highway

Perhaps he was thinking of the old Hershey Highway when typing this -- one-handed?

Yeccch - I pinged it out before I read every word. Yup - it really is necessary to see what these subhumans want to make the world into.

We need more fire in the belly. You want "people" like Morford making decisions? Calling the shots?

I didn't think so. I don't either.

this man (these people) are truely sexually insane. how utterly pathetic that one's whole world, whole existance for being, is centered around the homosexual sex act.

pathetic and sad (for them)

Homosexual agenda ping. This is not strictly "homo" agenda, see my Moral Absolutes Ping comments above. But since Morford is a "noted" homosexual spokes"human", I think we all need to know what his and his fellow homosexual radcials' plans for us are.

Let me and ItsOurTimeNow know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.

It sounds like MM wrote this on the down side of a mixture of some very bad drugs.

To tell you the truth, I would not be at all surprised to hear that he commits suicide in the near future.

And as hard hearted as I am, I would not be sorry to hear it.

If he were really getting all the sex he pretends, he wouldnt be such a hysteric. I suspect the poor lad's a virgin. At least, with women.

Judith Reisen wrote a stunning tell-all book on what Kinsey was really like.

Autoerotic masochism with a certain implement of personal hygiene, IIRC. If any one wants to know any more, read the book. I don't even like to think about the great Kinsey's fave turn-on.

Yup, the Chon(ic).

I used to like SF, many many years ago.

Now when I visit friends there, I feel as though I am in some weird bleak futuristic movie. People turning into insects and stuff.

I hate it.

Interesting, he just described daytime talk shows. He's out there, but we are heading towards some, well I'll just say interesting times indeed. Warning, I'm about to rant for a few paragraphs - whenever I say "we" I mean this society as a whole, and not the individualsl here at FR reading this. I'm going into

/begin old fart mode

While everybody is so worried about gays living together/getting married, the state of marriage among hetereosexuals is probably the lowest it's ever been. Our children are learning that marriage isn't a lifetime commitment, and that it's not a big deal, that adultery is normal. They learn this from TV, they learn this from our politicians, they learn this from the people they idolize (movie stars, athletes, etc.), they learn this from our neighbors, and maybe even ourselves. People worry about a few thousand or even a few tens of thousands of homosexuals getting married while millions and millions and millions of heterosexuals are trashing their marriage vows every single year and millions more are getting divorced.

While everybody is worried about what kids are being taught in the classrooms, kids are seeing more than ever on broadcast TV (the aforementioned talkshows, the reality shows, video games, etc. and parents don't give a damn because the TV has become a cheap babysitter.

Two or three decades from now when we are living in a more deviant society and wondering what happened, I'll tell you exactly what happened - we, as a society screwed up. We decided that it was better if we were our childrens' best friends, rather than their parents. We wanted to be cool, we wanted our children to like us, so we engaged in mini-popularity contests. We let them go out dressed like sluts and gangsters and trash because we didn't want to upset them or stiffle their personalities. We let them watch movies that were inappropriate, we gave them the money and the rides to these movies. We let them have their own computer in their own bedrooms where they could be easily exposed to things that were better left in the realm of adults. We let them break rules that we laid out, we let them hang out with inappropriate friends at inappropriate places at inappropriate times.

Everybody wants to take the easy way out and blame television, movies, homosexuals, liberals, etc., but the biggest problem in this country are parents - parents who would rather be friends with their kids than act like parents.

He hung himself by the testicles and ended up in the hospital for it. I'm not gonna repeat what else he did.

One sick puppy.

I used to live in Berkeley in the late 60s and visited SF a lot, lived in SF in early 70s. It was rough then but not what it is today.

People scuttle there.

That's fine if it's done in private.

It's when it is on the tube in the so-called "family hour" or stuck in your face in a hundred inappropriate ways that is the problem.

One sick puppy.

Kinsey as America's number 1 authority on sex is like having OJ as our national expert on marital harmony.
