Who is this guy? Has he ever studied history? Read anything from the Founding Fathers?
I understand "freedom of religion", but should he be saying this in a Muslim country?
Oh... that's right! This is Barack Obama who hates America, hates capitalism and wants to destroy us from within!
This is nice; now he's attacking religion and our Judeo-Christian value system this country was built upon.

Hey Obummer, those of us that belong here do consider ourselves to be a Christian Nation.
If you don’t like it, go back to Kenya where you were born!
It would remove a load of ignorance! :o)
Oh I understand. My ‘begrudgingly’ comment was only because I feel like I have no choice. I know I’m speaking to the choir when I say I don’t know what to do. Our way of life is at stake and I feel powerless.
What a piece of dogsh*t ... disgusting.
If the founding father’s had known of people like you I believe they would have been more specific. I guess they never dreamed that their understanding of the first amendment would have been so severely twisted as to render it useless against the onslaught of ACLU types bent on removing every vestige of the Judeo-Christian heritage of this great and GOD blessed nation.
We are not a nation of one specific and imposed Christian denomination. But, many of the original 13 states had an official denomination. In nearly every state constitution, it was required that a person elected to office be Christian.
You sir are wrong, as is Obama and all the other secular types who believe that we cannot be a Christian nation without being a theocracy. A nation is its people and we are a Christian people.
I am fed up with all of this revisionist history that is destroying this beloved country. You may choose not to believe, no one is forcing you. That is what a theocracatic tyranny is and you do not live in one if you are an American.
Yeah, here’s this illegally-seated nation-hijacking power-usurping demonic narcissistic MARXIST Kenyan national telling me my great country—that was founded on the solid rock of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Word of God—isn’t a Christian nation. Beloved, this is a man being used by Satan to attack all in the United States of America, if not the world, who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. This man is fairly boiling over with the spirit of antichrist, if not actually “the Beast” himself.
Try this - can a Jew say in “God We Trust”? Yes, and he or she is not a Christian.
And the rest of my post ?
Thank God those horrible Joos weren't allowed to hold elected office.
We agree that we do not live on a theocracatic [sic] tyranny. And I for one am very thankful.
He said ... “secular nation” ....
Was there more?
Another example of liberal revisionism, I did not say that I am despondent. I said that I am fed up, as in angry, that the country we were blessed with is being destroyed from within by people like you and Obama.
I notice you did not dispute anything, but only tried to impugn with your comment regarding the Jews. You don't get the point which is hardly surprising given the liberal mind's inability to handle logic, thoughtful discourse and truth.
QUOTES OF FOUNDING FATHERS:
Eleven of the thirteen colonies at the time of the Declaration of Independence already had state constitutions. ALL eleven required any person seeking public office to take a solemn oath of orthodox Christian belief. And twelve of the thirteen colonies taxed their citizens to support the preaching of the Gospel and to build churches. Nine of the thirteen recognized one denomination to the exclusion of all others.
Thus, historian Robert Flood wrote, “The concept of a secular state was virtually non-existent in 1776 as well as in 1787, when the Constitution was written, and no less so when the Bill of Rights was adopted.
To read the Constitution as the charter for a secular state is to misread history, and to misread it radically. The Constitution was designed to perpertuate a Christian order.”

You mean like how the Founders wrote basically the same thing in a treaty with the Barbary Pirates?
A different time, and a oft misinterprited phrase deliberatly inserted to distinguish us from European nations with an official religion. And they were correct, we don't have an official religion, however I don't think the circumstances of Obama's speech are remotely similar. What he meant I haven't a clue, it probably popped up on the teleprompter and he read it.
Not a certain Minnesota Congressman, who used Jefferson's Koran. Which Jefferson used the understand the duplicity of Islam.
The country was founded by Christians and the universalist principles—all created by equally the Creator—stem from a Christian ethos. The fact that others—Hindus, Jews, Bahais etc.—came and thrived here is in fact due to this universalist ethos. Obama is somewhere between a Muslim and a nonbeliever. He is obviously not a Christian, but the country is. He can’t change history.
