It is, however, enlightening to see a wholesale admission here of this malicious game to belittle and besmirch fellow conservatives and good freepers.

I would think that the powers that be on this forum might frown on that as THE goal, rather than focus on the dangerous people in Washington DC, who are destroying this nation.

I guess attacking conservatives on the Internet is more "fun" and definitely easier than rolling up your sleeves and working to get rid of the enemy in Washington, eh?

This is a very revealing, but not in the least surprising admission from the groupthink gang. I'm glad I stopped by here.

Truth that sets us free, so to speak.......right Nathan?

First of all, I have been popping in only minimally today, so I have NO idea who started THIS latest round, or WHERE it started up again...nor do I have the desire to backtrack and SEE who started it. I THOUGHT we were finished with this stuff (and, please, NOBODY start with the “he said/she said”...it’s moot now).

So...since I was pinged, I’ll respond.

Ohio, I don’t always agree in toto with folks out here; anyone who’s ever pinged me or conversed with me over the time I’ve been blogging here (since 2006) knows that. But civility (from ALL sides) is a good thing to maintain. I do try to maintain it myself (not always successfully, either).

That being said - people are entitled to their opinions. Right or wrong, what they believe is what they believe, so to the best of my thinking, we all should TRY to express our opinions in the way that will convince folks of the “rightness” of our way of thinking - if indeed we are “right” - or until we ourselves are proven wrong, in which case we stand up and say “Ok. My bad.” and move on. Correct?

Socratic method of dialogue - logic, candor, and more importantly, good will. And isn’t this the season for “Peace on Earth, Good Will towards men...”?

We can’t ever have the Peace on Earth part; but we CAN have “Peace on Free Republic”...

So, that being said, I reiterate my former stated position: Let’s all just be cool and discuss things without the vitriol - which is coming from BOTH sides.

Where do we agree?

1. NO RINO candidates. Correct?
2. NO Socialist-lite candidates. Correct?
3. PARTY does NOT come before Country. Correct?
4. NEITHER PARTY has had OUR best interests at heart, for the most part. Correct?
5. We FIND the best/most Conservative candidate we can and push him or her FORWARD, and support that person. Correct?
6. We FIGHT against the PARTY if the PARTY tries to stick us with a Liberal RINO. Correct?
7. The DEMS MUST BE crushed in the next election, and NOT supplanted by a closet socialist from “our” side. Correct?

Other than that...what else is there to say? A LOT of this is WAY out of our direct control, unless, as I’ve said, we’re ALL elbow deep in our LOCAL politics, where we CAN exercise a measure of influence. If we act locally, we’re within the Six Foot Radius of Direct Personal Influence so to speak.

Look at this way: - OhioWfan - If a crazed, lunatic mujahedeen fanatic was holding a knife to Rabs’ throat and threatening to behead him, and YOU were there on scene as a first responder and had a gun, you’d blast the Moojie right between his eyes, because Rabs is a fellow American, correct? He’s one of US.

-Rabs: Same scenario for you. You’d drop the Mooj trash in his tracks to protect a fellow American, right?

(man,I hope to GOD both of you said YES!)

You protect the AMERICAN. Period. Because he/she is one of US. Whatever differences you have become moot, because it’s life or death at that point, and that AMERICAN will have your six, and you will have theirs.

Simplistic? Yeah. Hell, yeah. Absolutely so. But I’m a simple man. I view things that way.

I can’t solve your verbal wars for you out here; only YOU guys can do that - by stopping the vitriol on either side of the fence. And sooner or later, if it gets nasty enough, the Mods WILL step in and folks will be banned...and good voices on BOTH sides of this fence might get silenced - preventing newbies and others just joining in from learning what WE already know and were woken up to. Rabs, I learned a WEALTH of information from you and your “Juan McCain” updates. So did many other folks out here.

Remember one thing: At the end of the day, the other side HATES ALL of us equally. THEY don’t give a rat’s butt how YOU feel about each other, except as to how THEY can benefit from it. And believe me, a couple of assh*les over at Democrat Underground (good name for the b*stards) are probably haveing a FIELD day reading some of these threads. They’re positively salivating over it.

They’re the REAL b*stards; they and their czars and Kommisars, and their Washington Apparachniks and their little Skidmark wannabe dictator. We’re just the people caught in the crosshairs.

Again, one team, one fight. Agree to disagree, and then leave it alone.

It’s almost Christmas...a little Peace on Free Republic is a good thing. Capeesh?

The person's religion is irrelevant.

If someone was holding a knife to ohioWfan's throat, then yes, I would be happy to pick up that gun and blast the crap out of him (or her), if it became apparent that there was no way to prevent bodily harm from being inflicted upon ohioWfan without causing bodily harm to the person holding the knife.

Determining where that line is--i.e., when any attempts to get that person holding the knife to back down--a pure judgement call.

Any idea what this nutbag is referring to? Anyone know of an admission posted here to attack conservatives? Considering that she threatened to report me to the moderator more than once, don't you think if she found an admission like this (especially by those she dislikes) it would be reported?

It's nothing but the usual RINO-bombast from FR's premiere Bush-idolizer who can always dish it out, but can't take it.

oWf (now pronounced "OAF") is quick to trumpet all of their deeds, contributions and accomplishments about what THEY have done for conservatism (and always demanding that everyone else state what THEY have done), that is the mark of a boaster and a braggart.

Now as for OAF's proclaimed conservatism, such claims become questionable when OAF continues to idolize and defend the biggest RINO to ever make it to the White House, George W. Bush.

She needs to give her head a shake when she starts hinting about 'the powers that be' on FR, for here is what our Founder had to say about her hero:

"A RINO is a Republican who either does not abide by the constitution or at a minimum is off the official Republican party platform more than he’s on it.

And, yes,
Bush was a RINO. As is Romney, Rudy, McCain, Huckabee, Graham, Snowe, Collins, Arnold and many others.

I supported Bush even though he was a RINO and gave in to Arnold at the last minute, even went with McCain after he gave us Sarah (and ONLY because of Sarah). Never again!

It’s been proven over and over again that the two-faced lying liberal reach around RINO will screw you in the end every time!

That’s what the Tea Party rebellion is all about!

NO MORE BIG GOVERNMENT!! NO MORE SOCIALISTS!! And NO MORE RINOS!!"

She must be, I've been ringing that Pavlovian dinner bell off and on since yesterday and that RINO oWf ("OAF") has yet to notice that it's feeding time.

Congratulations SickOfLibs, looks like you're the proud new owner of our very own FR >>>MAD PUPPY<<< LOL

I would think that the powers that be on this forum might frown on that as THE goal, rather than focus on the dangerous people in Washington DC, who are destroying this nation.

Yes, there are many very dangerous people who are destroying the United States, but not all of them live and work in Washington and New York.

Unfortunately, your willful and unrepentant admiration for some of them, e.g., the RINO George W. Bush, despite their well-documented, non-conservative, statist records in office is beyond disgusting. It's downright repugnant, because you know exactly what they did, yet you prefer to perform the virtual equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears, looking away, and yelling "la la la la that never happened la la la la."

Now, frankly, if there's anything I think that the powers that be here on FR would frown upon, it's pushing a bigger, more intrusive, activist Federal government over the inalienable, Creator-endowed rights of the individual human being, or in other words, pushing an agenda of statism in direct contravention of individual freedom.

Reagan once said:

...but I would like to suggest that there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down--up to a man's age-old dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order--or down to the ant heap totalitarianism, and regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would trade our freedom for security have embarked on this downward course.

So, as far as I am concerned, the goal here is not to blindly elect more Republicans, nor is it to elect nominal conservatives, irrespective of political allegiance, who either don't have a problem with abusing their power to accomplish what, on the surface and in the short run, appear to be desirable conservative outcomes, but in the long run are nothing more than political daggers that can be wielded in the future against conservatives by other American social factions.

The goal is to elect people at the Federal level who are willing to actually follow through with the oaths that they swear to uphold and defend the Constitution. That is the only way that we can accomplish the real goal of preserving and enhancing the freedom and sovereignty of the various States, and more importantly, the individual American, obviously, and in agreement with Reagan, in a manner consistent with law and order.

Merely replacing "the dangerous people in Washington DC...who are destroying this nation" with more dangerous people of a different stripe will accomplish nothing otherwise.

Furthermore, focusing too intently on achieving social outcomes by leaning on the power of the centralized Federal government--and mind you, centralized, concentrated power is extremely dangerous, no matter who holds it--completely misses the point that lasting social change can only be effected by voluntarily convincing people that adopting your worldview, or at least, parts of it, is in their self-interests. The reason for the so-called "culture war" and the "moral decay" that many social conservatives thoroughly abhor is not because of any lack of laws or restrictions at the Federal level; rather, it has come about because various Churches have lapsed and the right of the parents to educate their children has been surrendered to State-run educational institutions. No amount of Federal government this or that will solve either one of those two problems; in fact, giving the Federal government more power might very well make them even worse. After all, government is straight-up force, and all it can do is manipulate, control, and cajole people by threat of force.

Now, as a last word, in order for conservatives to move forward, particularly if they intend to continue using the Republican Party as the primary--but not only--vehicle for an agenda of small, Constitutional government and of individual freedom, then they--we--must repudiate and cast off past sins, much like, as Christians, in order to be cleansed, we must genuinely and throughly repent of our sins. Unfortunately for Bush apologists like ohioWfan, that means having to confront the Bush political record of RINO-ism, something that, based on her comments as of late, she seems unwilling to do.

Those are wise words Rabs.

I submit some hypothetical scenarios for consideration:

1945 - World War II is over in Europe, and as France begins to rebuild, the provisional government led by General Charles DeGaulle nullifies all past acts by the Nazi-collaborating Vichy government as illegal and anti-constitutional. However the vast numbers of Vichy-collaborators are kept in the many government agencies and departments, and proceed to sabotage and undermine the efforts of the new government.

So: What is wrong with this picture?

1980 - After defeating Jimmy Carter in a 44 state landslide, President-elect Ronald Reagan chooses NOT to fire and dismiss all of the Carter appointees and staff, keeping a goodly number of them in their jobs and positions as a 'friendly gesture of bipartisanship and cooperation'. The leftist Carter crew immediately gets to work by throwing road blocks and obstacles in the path of the Reagan Administration, and by the Fall of 1981 the question is being asked "how did the Gipper fail so quickly?"

Once again I ask: What is wrong with this picture?

2009 - After Free Republic's Founder Jim Robinson declares with absolutely clarity and purpose that FR will NOT support RINOs, and states without equivocation that George W. Bush was (and is) a RINO just like Mitt Witt Romney, Mike Huckleberry Hound, Juan McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Goober Graham, Olympia Snow, Susan Collins, etc., etc., etc., Freepers who continue to sing the praises of George W. Bush and worship the ground he walks on, continue to post their sly suggestions that anyone who criticizes GWB must not be against the current 0bamunist regime in Washington, hints that those who are calling a spade a spade (as in GWB being a RINO and greatly responsible for the colossal mess America is now in) are actually liberals, Bush-haters, trolls, et al.

So once more: What is wrong with this picture?

What we are witnessing is nothing more than a replay of the disgusting RudyBot campaign here on FR which ended with them leaping off into eternal ZOT-dom with their clownish opus posts, practically begging to be banned, and they got their wish for the most part, thanks to the famous 'FR Bug Zapper Thread'. It was a necessary step to eliminate the infestation of liberal-RINO trolls and sleeper accounts from (clearly stated too) a "conservative website".

As I see it, this is the most logical next step for FR:

You are probably right. It's all about her. Her great deeds. Her being victimized. Yet she jumps back in to start another argument again and again.
