I pay cash and I tip well. The servers, mail or female, know me and my family and give extra good service.
New ones who don’t give good service get a very small tip. The regulars must clue them in because the next time we get good service - and they get a good tip.
Bars and restaurants can do without this sort of customer.

People who don’t tip, when they receive adequate service, are jerks. This guy should spend some time waiting tables. Wait staff get paid a token salary, and are expected to work harder in order to make more money. It’s capitalism in the raw, and non-tippers reap the reward without contributing the price, of this work. And they will certainly go to Hell.
As a business owner, I have a saying:

In a "liberty-oriented" world, he can be banned for ANY reason. He does not seem to be celebrating the owner's liberty...

Well, they shouldn’t threaten you...but you should tip, especially in a bar. I wouldn’t go back, personally, because I think that having tips extorted (especially by the owner!) is totally wrong.
Write him a letter and tell him this.
However, as a former waitron, I can tell you that you’re not doing yourself or your group any favors. I never liked waiting on women, because they never tipped, regardless of how much you had done for them; there was another group that also never tipped, but I won’t go there...
If everyone did this and forced restaurants to pay a set wage, we could finally recover the billions of dollars in taxes that go unreported every year.

How many expect to tip the mechanic who gets $15 an hour of the $60 per hour the dealer charges for his services?Do you tip the clerk at the local convenience store?
But guess what?the convenience store clerk is paid $8.50 to $10 per hour which is what wait staff should get at least.
Wouldn't it be more fair to just charge the customer another dollar for that steak,another dime for that drink,those fies,etc. and just pay the help ?
The writer’s waitress/waiter is taxed on an estimated 10-20% of her/his checks whether she/he receives it, or not.

I’d have thrown his ass out, too. Tipping is part of the expense of a full-service restaurant. Though it is not legally required, and can be withheld or reduced for poor service, it is customary to offer a gratuity for good service.
