Enough Carly Bashing - Let's Unite to Defeat Boxer
EEE | 09 JUNE 2010 | EEE

Posted on 06/09/2010 8:57:15 PM PDT by Extremely Extreme Extremist

Carly Fiorina wasn't the first choice among many conservatives. She is not as conservative as DeVore and if Campbell hadn't been in the race, then supporting DeVore would have been a no-brainer. I respect DeVore and his service. I never attacked him personally, (unlike those who attacked Carly and ridiculed her as a "dyke" even though she just had breast cancer and lost her hair) and I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. He now has name recognition and a platform of support to challenge Diane Feinstein in 2012, for example, and if he does he'll receive my wholehearted support.

But the important thing is, Carly was more conservative than Campbell, who was the ultimate turn-coat RINO and who would have done nothing to advance the conservative agenda. She has millions to compete with Boxer and being a female and cancer survivor also neutralizes whatever attacks Boxer will throw at her. Remember that Boxer completely destroyed two staunch male conservatives before. It's time to unseat her using a different tactic.

Unfortunately, there are FReepers, who are bitter and angry from the DeVore loss, who have stated that it would be better for Boxer to win than to rally behind Carly. This is completely childish and pathetic. First of all, Carly is not a RINO because she has no public office experience to make a RINO assessment on. We're not talking about holding your nose for a Mark Kirk or Mike Castle-type liberal Republican. We're talking about someone who is reasonably conservative on the main issues and who will slow the Obama agenda. With Palin's endorsement, there's less of a chance for her to go Olympia Snowe on us. I trust Palin, and I doubt that Fiorina would be the West Coast version of Snowe.

Second of all Carly has business experience and while FReepers will laugh at her six years at HP the fact of the matter is she still has experience. Prior to becoming HP CEO Carly was vice-president of AT & T, so obviously HP saw something in her. She worked her way up from being a receptionist to leading a major corporation. What did Boxer do, besides live on the government hog most of her life?

Boxer will whine and say that Carly outsourced jobs but Carly can easily counter and say that conditions created by the government (high corporate taxes and regulations) brought about the need to cut jobs.

My point is that Carly won the primary decisively and exit polls showed she attracted both independents and conservatives. She ran a strong center-right campaign and there's no doubt that will carry over into the general election against Boxer. While she's not pure as the driven snow conservative, she is sufficiently conservative to stop the Obama agenda and promote big-picture issues like reining in spending and lowering taxes. So to quote Sheppard Smith: Don't be a hater.

I voted for DeVore in the Primary, and I'll vote for Fiorina in the General.
She isn't the Conservative leader I'd like -- but Ms. Boxer needs to go. Far away.

It wasn’t a very good purge; there are still some people left on here who disagree with me :)

In general, I agree wholeheartedly with you, but we either get Boxer with her seniority and her party out of there or we allow her to run things for anther six years.

We can fight the RINO at the next primary for that seat. In the meantime, let’s cut the Democrats off at the knees. Even if the Democrats are the party in power next year, they won’t be giving committee leadership positions to a RINO over their other liberal options.

At the end of day my friends, if we as conservative don't stand united together we are going lose lonely. While Carly does not have the type of conservative credentials as we would like; but at least she have something to earn Gov. Palin endorsement. As Californian, we need to remove Boxer then Feinstein. We need have a true voice representing California interest in Washington DC. I respect Carly for being a CEO, whether she was fire or not; she does know what it feel like to meet payroll each weekly or biweekly; unlike that idiot Boxer.

"Another Snowe and Collins helps us how?"

Senators Collins and Snowe are pro-life? Who knew?

How dare you sir to suggest that we should stop looking for the perfect candidate, in our own eyes at least, and unite around the winner of the primary. Is it not better for us to moan, lament, and cry over the loss of our “perfect” candidate and resign ourselves to vote to relect the incumbent Democrat? May we forever seek our “perfect” candidate and continue to ensure that the corrupt, etc, democrats continue to be re-elected until we find that “perfect” person.

I have been very depressed the last 24 hours but I scrapped the DeVore bumper sticker off my car but the people have spoken and it is time to move on. At least it was not Campbell.

We need to start somewhere. Before Obummer, getting rid of Boxer was unimaginable. Steering this ship to the right will not happen overnight and the left is very powerful right now. Conservatism will prevail we stay vigilant and hold these new converts to their word.

Well said! Debating candidates and issues are one thing but the childish playground behavior of so many around here is getting old.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

We wanted a true Conservative in place, we didn’t get it. In this case at least she has some Conservative quals. Which makes her way, way better than that idiot boxer.

I get so tired of FReepers who would rather have an extreme liberal b/c the alternative is a RINO of some stripe or another. That kind of thinking is what gave us the TOTUS-reader.

I understand, but a zero-year seniority RINO is much better than a 20 year seniority Democrat.

As for McLame, one of his problems is his seniority in the Senate. I could handle the RINO better if it was reset to zero. Every reset of a more liberal-leaning seat means someone more conservative is moved up.

I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand. It is not the foot soldiers that matter its the leadership. Snowe and Collins caused us problems because Bush was a liberal on domestic policy and allowed Snowe and Collins to do what they did. As you can see from the last year or so Snowe and Collins have followed the GOP leadership in not voting for Obama’s bills.

The leadership is what is important and Carly's win last night did wonders for conservatism at the national level by giving power to one of the most conservative national figures on the stage at the moment.

The reason Rinos killed us in 200-2006 was not because they were RINOs but because BUSH was. got it?
