An apparently sober Tucker Carlson was advocating capital punishment for animal cruelty on TV this week. For those who missed it, where have you been? While filling in for Sean Hannity on Fox, Carlson expressed the opinion that Michael Vick, pro-bowl Quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, should have gotten the death penalty for his participation in a dog fighting ring a few years ago.
Tucker, who finally has lost the bow tie and with it his mind, is in the process of trying for a hat trick. I think he wants to host his third show on his third different cable network, and I guess he figures the best way of completing the mission is to create a stir. Calling for the head of an NFL quarterback is one way to do it.
This is where my ideology and my rooting interest always seem to collide, why the hell is there always friction between the Philadelphia Eagles and conservative talking heads? Every once in a while Rush Limbaugh feels the need to tick me off too. We'll get back to Rush.
This conflict keeps happening though and it always makes me feel... ah, conflicted. Which means more to me a super bowl or lower taxes and less government? I'll give you a hint, if Michael Vick gets pulled over at 3 AM and the cops find a couple of dead bodies in the trunk of his car, as long as they aren't friends of mine, I'd be okay with the boys in blue looking the other way and writing him up for failure to yield. Philly cops, being philly cops, I'd expect no less.

Why not just post it here?
Tucker seems to have become a libertarian ala John Stossell and for the most part I agree with where he is going.
I have mixed feelings about people like Vick. I hunt animals for sport and food, and I separate people like myself from people like Vick, but another observer might paint me with the same brush....
I think utilizing animals for human needs is fine...but to put them in pits to fight for sport is iffy in my book.
and then to smash their heads in for fun if the animals dont perform is sick and perverted, IMHO.
I do not advocate Vicks death but he needed and got punishment....maybe not enough....I don’t know.
Blogpimps: “Bring Me The Head Of Humblegunner !”
In case anyone has forgotten, the injured dogs were strung up in his yard, tortured and strangled or shot to death after being mortally injured during these sadistic performances.
For the National Football League to even let Vick purchase a ticket to a game - let alone play on one of their teams is despicable in the extreme.
I continue my boycott of the NFL and the networks providing them money to pay these ghetto punk ass thugs - in my home? on Sunday? - Not on your life!
My only hope is that Vick is critically injured on the field and he is strung up and shot to death like the helpless animals that were unfortunate enough to be entrusted to his "care"
Now I hear he is whining because his kids want a dog and he thinks a court order barring him from any contact with animals in unjust.
Okay, Carlson said something stupid. So what? He is entitled to his opinion and you can either agree or not. He didn’t say something REALLY stupid like “we can absorb another 9-11” or anything. That really didn’t get much press coverage did it. Biden says something stupid every time they let him out of his cage to go public. IMHO
What would be news is if Carlson didn't say something stupid.
Tucker is wrong, Vick should not be executed. He should be put into the ring with a sufficiently trained fighting pitbull or two.
I am afraid that attitude is far to close to freedom of speech for some people's comfort. Frankly, there are a lot of folks (on the left and right (and, sadly, many who call themselves Freeper) who consider any sort of disagreement with their opinion to be a capital offense or at the very least justification for calling someone that most heinous of labels, a RINO.
I have always figured that the stupider someone's opinion is, the more press it ought to get. Nothing kills a bad product quicker than good advertising.
Carlson is opposed to capital punishment EXCEPT when it comes to someone killing or being involved in the killing of dogs. He’s not the only person that has their priorities skewed. But for him to state this on national television should be reason to ban him from Fox.
That’s extreme. Vick should NEVER be allowed to own a dog again.
This guy doesn’t really know football either. McNabb is overrated, as the Redskins are finding out now.
You are saying what I believe, too. Tucker Carlson used a hyperbolic statement to show how terrible he felt about tortured dogs. Big deal! Like this is the first time a tv talk show host shot off his mouth. I can’t believe this is even an issue, lol.
Thanks so much for posting this. It says everything you need to know about Vick & Tucker Carlson’s very human response.
I love Tucker, he asks good questions and has solid observations..that the libs fired him is no surprise..
I heard that remark whne he made it..it was off the cuff not a serious suggestion.. people need to lighten up
Me too ...
You are welcome.
I wish Mark Levin wasn’t on vacation, would love to hear his comments about BHO & Vick.
