Looks to me like the USDA was setting up Congress (meaning the House Repubs) for the blame if the USDA "had to" shut off payments to the EBT cards.

It wouldn't matter to the lamestream "news" media if the House passed a funding bill for SNAP. The Senate Dems would refuse to consider it and blame the Repubs for poor people going hungry, knowing the media would follow their DNC talking points and publish stories blaming the the Repubs.

The media also wouldn't blame the USDA who, I'm sure, could prioritize their budget and keep the "free" food money flowing (considering only 17% of the gub'mint was shut down...).

Probably all orchestrated by the Zero King and his merry band of court jesters to create panic. Nothing like keeping an "enemy" in front of the people, someone to "blame" for whatever is wrong. When does the Two Minute Hate start?

That would be a start. If I owned a grocery store(s), I would have only one checkout lane that would handle the EBT cards. Every shopper in the place would know who the deadbeats are. A little shame and embarassment is a good thing.

No, but I don't know how much Walmart lost in one day of rioting either. Point is, if Walmart want to avoid EBT riots, don't take EBT. Otherwise, suffer the (now) known consequences.
