Not all of the canceled plans are *junk*. I'm growing a bit weary of this talking point. Some of the canceled plans were quite good.

Our Monthly premium went up 42%. We were paying $ 1057.53 per month in 2013. We will now be paying $ 1503.19 per month, or an extra $ 5,347.92 per year. Our deductible has more than doubled. We had a complete deductible of $ 6000.00 last year. Our NEW DEDUCTIBLE IS $ 12,700.00 an increase of 111%. Our total out of pocket to be insured AND ACTUALLY USE the plan is now: $12, 047.92 MORE THAN LAST YEAR! for less coverage.

Many of the plans canceled were actually pretty good, some like my wife's were great. And most of the replacements on the exchange are more expensive, both in premiums and deductibles. . . . So don't tell me her plan is junk. Do you hear me DU, I DON"T WANT TO HEAR IT. Her plan will be canceled next year because it doesn't meet the standards set in the ACA.

We all knew this is what would happen because it needed to happen. Healthy people will have to pay more to more equally share the burden. Single men would have to purchase pregnancy coverage to more equally share the burden. Young people would have to pay more to more equally share the burden. The ENTIRE plan was based on this logic.

Even on DU, many people don't want to pay more for the good of those poorer than them. There are many DU members who think everyone who makes more than they do should pay more taxes. But if it's suggested that they pay more for the good of those who make less than they do, then it's not fair.

Last week on PBS, a 2x Obama-voting, self-employed woman...was interviewed about how she was getting the shaft. She did NOT have a sh*tty plan.

The Insurance companies Had to know down to the last policy how many individual policies would be cancelled. $hitty replacement policies were offered and this was supposed to quickly drive 4-5 million unhappy campers into the exchanges, but who knew that that the gods of chaos would so curse healthcare.gov that it was unusable until after the news of the number of canceled policies became viral.
Bottom line is that many previously cancelled policies will be offered for renewal (don't know about doctors) and those folks will have escaped the exchange for at least another year when they can join the legion of keening canceled employees. These policies were crucial for funding the claims of the flood of the sick and people with pre-existing conditions.
Even if they get the website working as envisioned I think they will be millions of enrollees short. Obama should have stuck to his guns and vetoed any legislative attempt at change. But this was just another political consideration wasn't it?
It's a shovel-ready project.
This will be a new experience for the Pittster: winter, snowed in, in the woods. What would be FUnnie is if Sarah Palin came in on a snow machine and showed him how to survive in such conditions.

I’m guessing he or his mother bought somebody’s vacation/retreat cabin. The idea is to haul in a wk’s worth of food & supplies & enjoy a woodsy getaway. Living there permanently is another matter. Pitt hasn’t seen expenses until he contracts w a private party to keep a 5 mile dirt road snow free. It won’t be cheap.

This is the attitude that is always followed by constant demonization of political opponents. After all, remaining in power is the most important thing to dictators! Now, after the demonization is complete, you can “re-educate” those oppoents to the applause of DUmmies like this...of course, re-education always leads to elimination!
