Barack Obama's Third Term?

The best line President Obama delivered in his 2015 State of the Union Address was not one written for him by his speechwriters. When he said he would not be on the ballot again, Republicans who had just taken over both Houses of Congress stood and applauded.

Good naturedly, but with a bit of sarcasm, Mr. Obama reminded his opponents that he won both times he was on the national ballot. He was the first Democrat since Franklin D. Roosevelt to achieve back-to-back election victories.

We need to acknowledge that he is a formidable political actor. He has defied the Constitution in many areas since his first days in office. He brazenly announced he did not like the Defense of Marriage Act and would not defend it in court (or enforce it before it got to court).

“I am the President of the United States, clothed in immense power!”

Actually, that line was a perfect description of the Presidency. The power of the Presidency is not intrinsic to the man, it is worn like an article of clothing, to be discarded at the end of his term and subject to the whims of the electorate.

Sounds like he's never heard of Bill Clinton.

Um...What about President Clinton? 1993-2001, back to back!

Obama lied.

As usual.

The White Hut homosexual was channeling his inner Brian Williams.
Boy Clinton did it twice first, but Barry is the biggest blowhard.

Well, this is going to go over like a fart in church, but here goes.

Ayn Rand founded Objectivism, which in addition to inspiring the Wisconsin school of Republicanism also served as the philosophical underpinnings of Satanism. Satanism is evil, that’s kind of the point. Putting a bunch of selfish evil globalists in charge of the country, though, is a bridge too far for most voters.

Not counting Ross Perot, of course.

Wonder what would happen if Donald Trump said anything close to that?

We just need to ask the new US Chamber of Commerce who they want as Prez.

Look at how much money would be saved. Cut out the MSM, the middle man.

Take a look at the points at which Walker has surged, it’s when he did things like going against open borders.

I would not wish to see that match up. Sarah could easily handle Michelle in a fair political fight, but you just know that the media will do it’s best to promote and protect Michelle, while demoting or exploiting anything Sarah has to say. Hillary is also betting on the media to continue doing it’s heavy lifting for her benefit.

What is this author talking about? Clinton won back to back elections, and essentially so did Harry Truman, serving nearly a full term as President, and then being re-elected — FDR died about 3 months after being reelected for the 4th time. Lyndon Johnson was reelected after serving out Kennedy’s term although he elected not to run for a third term as president. Somebody needs to do some fact checking, there was nothing historic about obama’s winning a second term!

Truman won a single presidential election, not two, the Reagan supported Eisenhower defeated him when he ran for reelection.

The author may have been confused about the language that he was using, because Clinton never won 50% of the vote.
