BETHESDA, Md., April 8, 2016/PRNewswire/ — Ted Cruz risks primary disqualification in New Jersey resulting from charges of ballot access fraud. A primary ballot disqualification hearing is scheduled by the Secretary of State for Monday, April 11 at 9:00 a.m. in Mercerville, New Jersey.

Washington D.C. Law Professor Victor Williams charges that Ted Cruz fraudulently certified his constitutional eligibility for office to gain ballot access. Williams demands that Cruz be disqualified from several late-primary ballots: “Cruz committed ballot access fraud in each state when he falsely swore that he was a ‘natural born’ American citizen.” Cruz was born in Calgary, Canada and held his resulting Canadian citizenship until May 2014. Cruz is a naturalized (not natural born) American citizen.

Do you have links to the Cruz briefs? I haven’t done a search for them yet to see if they are available to the public at large.

Unless you know he is of that mind to begin with...

That is interesting as one of the first topics Scalia addresses is getting to know the mindset of a judge. Researching his past, his likes, his associates and any available literature that the judge has written that may pertain to your case. I will have to do some research on Pellegrini's bio.

And you are ignoring the fact that the US State Dept. issued a US passport to Ted Cruz when he was 16.

And you are ignoring the fact that Ted is a cereal liar.

Canada required parents to choose, Canadian or U.S.

Teddie’ mommie picked Canadian.

Teddie’s mommy was on the voter rolls in Canada.

The Cruznadian rescinded his only citizenship in 2014.

Wait until the State Department Finds out the Cadians pulled fraud on the.

What is the prison term on things like that, five or ten years?

I have a few. They are largely similar, with addition of complainant-specific argument.

Actually you will find that it has, in large part, been settled by popular consensus. Just read the dozen resolutions (since the 70s) that were before Senate hearings.

In each one it is made clear that at the minimum birth in the US, otherwise known as native birth, is a requirement to qualify. Soooo, if our senators, historians, teachers, various scholars, etc. ALL conceded to that requirement, how on earth can any self-respecting individual claim that there has not been a popular consensus? It’s bizarre. Anyway, Tribe stated not long ago that under the ORIGINALIST intent in the Constitution, Cruz would not be eligible.

Did you ever hear that Levin show where he clearly stated that Cruz is a NATURALIZED citizen? Times change I guess.

Is that “born in Canada” for non-citizen parents traveling in Canada, or to parents who have settled in Canada? Teds father had applied for Canadian citizenship, and was a Can citizen before they moved to TX. To my knowledge Teds mother has never gone on record one way or the other about whether she had applied or been granted Can citizenship.

I don’t see how anyone can call you a birther. You know for a fact where Ted Cruz was born. People who thought obama was born in Kenya, yet his “birth certificate” was from HI were called “Birthers” because they didn’t believe the birth certificate, or the place of birth shown on it were legit.

Hence the term, “birther”.

That does not even apply to you re Cruz.

never heard that one, though I have an archived podcast of him saying several years ago that citizenship laws, immigration and naturalization, are not his areas of expertise as he has not studied those areas of the law at length.

Where did you come up with the notion anyone was saying the Constitution was a dictionary?

With all due respect, the post you incoherently replied to was directed to the poster of 74 who was making a weird claim about NBC which is not in the Constitution.

In the case of NBC, it is one of the important things in the Constitution that the Founders did not define. Anyone claiming they “know” the definition of NBC is delusional.

Blah blah blah. You said it wasn’t DEFINED in the Constitution. So why would you think it should be defined there if you didn’t think the Constitution was a dictionary?

The Constitution was written for the average person in language that was meant for everyone to understand. This we all know. Which meant that the meaning of a term such as “natural born citizen” was in common use at that time and did NOT require definition.

RE:”The Constitution is just words on paper unless ALL parties agree to be bound by it and unless those charged with “upholding, protecting, and defending” it do their duty. And at this point in time, realistically, based on the actions or lack of action on the subjects involved, that isnt’ going to happen.”

That reminds me.

Any Trump supporting constitutional purists out there, can you find where in the constitution Trump found the authority for he POTUS to do this?

Donald Trump vowed on Thursday to issue an executive order mandating the death penalty for anyone who kills a police officer.
