If I showed up in Germany, Russia, Japan, Mexico, England, Canada, etc... Just showed up and demanded that I be given legal work status and a right to protest in the streets, id be locked up and quickly deported.

If I went there and murdered, raped, formed a gang, etc, they would all be harsh on me. I cannot understand this mentality that everyone demands America just ignore it and flood in all the third world.

It is clear that our leaders are doing this by design.

People need to read the entire article. The article describes the costs of illegals and legal immigration. Read it all and you will see that it actually supports the positions most of us FReepers have on the issue.

Weasel words
especially if they pay more in taxes than receive in
government benefits and services

The longer an immigration policy, the weaker it becomes.
Divide wannabes into 2 categories:
Desireable
Undesireable

Undesireable
Terrorist supporters. Immigrant wannabes should be tested in their refugee camps. Send Jehovah Witnesses and Mormpns to try to convert them. Send Britney Spears to walk thru their camp and see if they can contain themselves. (If not, no loss) They must pledge support for the Bill of Rights, Constitution, Dec of Independence and be tested on it with real life situations.

Murderers, rapists, DUI drivers, common criminals are undesireable.

Welfare Parasites. No immigrant (legal, illegal, refugee or naturalized citizen) should be allowed to even apply for EITC, Medicaid, EBT/SNAP, Sec8, etc. Non-citizens are not covered by the Eqaul Protection of the 14th Amendment.

The above 3 cover it all.

Addendum. Burden of proof should be on the wannabe to prove why he should be allowed in. Currently burden of proof is on DHS. Emphasis should be on 14th Amendment does not cover non-citizens. We can deport any non-citizen without lengthy court continuances. Immigrants have the right to life...but not to live that life in the US.

From the article:

Deportations are a bitter but necessary medicine for America. Our next President must act or else the disease will be irreversible. We must be firm in our resolve, keeping in mind that making someone go home is generally not the inhumane act like it’s cast - especially if we help that person fix his home. Could any exceptions be made? Perhaps.

Unequivocally, some immigration is positive. However, as the forthcoming arguments will make clear, immigration (of all types) should be slower and more measured, giving time for the melting pot to work its magic. We must enforce existing laws. Immigration policy should serve the interests of all Americans, as a whole, rather than special groups. It should skew towards net contributors to our society rather than net takers. Reasonable people **should** debate the magnitudes and overall importance of mass migration’s various and uncertain costs. Reasonable people would not shut down debate with personal attacks and cries of racism.

You should get out of your mother’s basement more.

I’ve known thousands of immigrants..thousands of Mexicans, , hundreds of Indians and 3rd world “Canadian” co-workers, hundreds of East Europeans, dozens of Nigerians.

I’ve personally facilitated the depor tation of more immigrants than most on this site and held the same consistent position for about 63 years ... since the bracero debate. And I’ve read the statistics for 60 years.

In my experience 90% of Mexicans but only 10% of Russian immigrants are desireable. People of Mexican ancestry have the lowest rate of people eligible for welfare programs taking that welfare of any demographic group.

Refugees have the highest rate of welfare of any demographic group...bar none.

But 10% of Mexicans are undesireable. The undesireable ones are already in contact with the government. It costs nothing to identify them and quickly deport them.

SELF-deportations are a beautiful thing. Agressively enforce E-Verify and the rest will take care of itself.

I grew up in a high illegal town, i was the minority at my HS. I have no issue with LEGAL immigrants, but illegals are criminals. All you have to do is watch the crime report - its all illegals.

Now legal aliens I don’t have an issue with, but illegals are by definition breaking the law and are here to game the system.

Nothing personal, but, the fact that you, or whoever wrote it, conflate illegal immigration with legal immigration invalidates the entire thing.

We don’t empathize with illegal immigrants in even the slightest way. They are criminals, period.

The poster wishes to have a constructive dialog, supposedly.

A constructive dialog would involve opposing points of view that are factually stated, and the fact that he talks about LEGAL immigration and ILLEGAL immigration as if they were the same thing makes the whole point invalid.

Most thinking people are not against immigration, but ARE against two things:

1.) Illegal immigration

2.) Legal immigration policies designed to destroy the host country by excluding people who may possess marketable skills but do not have the right skin color or heritage, preferentially accepting people who have no way to contribute to society but have the right skin color and right heritage, and doing all this in numbers that are meant to place enough of a load on society to break it down, which is the end goal of the people who have put these policies in place.

We visit the Monterey, CA area once a year. The inn where we stay employs many Hispanics (mostly Mexicans).

Two years ago, after noticing one housekeeper seemed very sad and depressed, I felt the need to see if there was any way I could be if help to her. Unfortunately, when I tried speaking to her, she could speak limited English and my Spanish is limited to asking for bathrooms and ordering more water and butter.

I asked where she was from and she said Monterey but I asked again asking what was her home country. She said Mexico, as I had assumed, so I inquired how long she had lived in California and was simply blown away when she said she lived in Monterey twenty-five years (25)!

Being certain I misunderstood, I went through a number of tries but she assured me she understood and not only had lived in the area for 25 years but had three children who were all born in Monterey, CA hospital, the eldest being 22!

I believe it's criminal that we have illegals living in America, never assimilating, never speaking the language, yet driving and working here for decades!
