[ Also, my parents always took Xia’s side against me. They argued that professionals who are licensed do not make mistakes and know better than minors who are totally nuts ]

Totalitarians of EVERY STRIPE seem to follow the whole “Appeal to Authority” argument every single effing time, even when they themselves are being marched up against the wall where they will take their last breath.

That's great! Its very hard to get off SSI I'm told. Even harder to get a job. these days government is able to share private info with any group on the planet including big companies. Most people I know stuck on SSI can't get a job. Kyle Weissman who helps me run my blog and other odd ends had the same problem and was denied work at an office in Westwood because of his poor credit rating and because he had been on forced SSI by his abusive relatives. He had the same problem applying for other jobs including a position at Michael's Crafts in Century city!

I am very pleased to hear you could get off that and get a six figure job! It must've been hard.

> They argued that professionals who are licensed do not make mistakes and know better

The whole problem with liberal educated idiots and their whole lot summed up. They assume (and the other members of their religion) that if they attend a university and take a course for a semester or two that they are therefore "experts and know better than "you". I am considered an "expert" on certain topics and have testified in court rooms on them but the first thing I will tell you about ANY expert is that they can always be wrong. The second thing is you can't take a course or training and consider yourself an expert. Without real life experience (and lots of it) all the book stuff means absolutely nothing more than some random head knowledge that you may or may not have forgotten. I have seen experts make statement that made me say, "really"? This guy has to be lying and paid a lot to sway the jury. Experts is almost a term I wish we're removed from' the dictionaries because is implies too much and the liberals worship their own version of that book and fool others with their re-definitions from it.

I had a different experience with government social workers and fortunately it didn’t include forced medications. Still, it remains a formative experience for me and it left a mark. I am no longer very trusting of police (although our local sheriff’s department is wonderful!) and I am absolutely opposed to the unchecked and unlimited absolute powers wielded by family court judges and social workers.

The KGB would have been jealous of the power these people have.

If I lived in Egypt, I’d much rather live under Sisi or Mubarak than the Muslim Brotherhood.

He sounds like the might actually be mentally ill given his six month and then three year homeless stretches when he would have qualified for housing although the problem might have been going to the psychiatrist in the first place. Generally, going to a psychiatrist is not a good idea.

People on SSI earn low income and are eligible for section 8 housing, food stamps, and medicaid. They can also work up to approximately what they earn off SSI. Some states (like California) give a small top up as well. It’s a little hard to feel too sorry for them which is why they always focus on the small direct federal cash component of their welfare.

That said, I would never want to be on SSI. I know two siblings on it who are really just too lazy to want to work and want to spend their lives as an ‘artists’ while also using drugs. They’re dependent bums but they makes full use of all his benefits (SSI, food stamps, section 8 housing, and medicaid). They tried working a few times very briefly but they would rather us working folk support them.

Incidentally, it was going to a psychiatrist in the first place that set them on this path because the psychiatrist made them aware of it and all the people they met in group therapy were on it. In order to get SSI they faked crazy. Its infuriating to the taxpayers that have to support people like this and there are a lot of them.

Modern psychiatry is a organized, industrial-scale crime against humanity dressed up as a pseudo-science.

If there’s a person in the field who isn’t a moral monstrous horror with severe mental defects themselves, I haven’t heard of them.

Not that hard if you're willing to cheat the system, here in rural West Virginia I know of several people (unfortunately one is a nephew), who "gamed" the system with the help of "assembly line" law offices and unscrupulous doctors to get on SSI in the first place. Now they are not only collecting a easy $800 a month (plus foodstamps, free insurance etc.) but they are still working under the table for cash, and in the case of the nephew have a nice house, and vehicles (even a motorboat) which he keeps in his live-in girlfriends name to avoid SSI tracing them back to him.

Very simple solution to all of this...keep any funding of this sort locally....get all of these agencies from afar out of the micro-managing of children....open up reform schools....old age homes....and every other thing that used to address these every day events. When you get the $ incentive out and remove 100’s of thousands of paper pushing union government employees you will see a real change. And smack the kid in the back of the head and tell him to sit down and shut up....and the simple phrase of “If I didn’t care about you why would i bother to correct you”....then just watch the thought process.

They argued that professionals who are licensed do not make mistakes and know better

Were that even partially true, companies who offer malpractice insurance would have gone broke long ago.

i searched the internet every which way i could think of and found zero information to support any of this other than that guohua xia exists.

it makes zero sense that someone who claims they made c’s and d’s in school and the rest of the claimed background could have written the claimed “email” with near-perfect grammar, spelling and coherency. that email was written by someone with a college-level education.

And yes many times early on even in the computer field I was told flat to my face I wouldn’t be hired because it was an amputee ..things like field service gigs which I finally got into... ...for one job doing software I was told they wouldn’t hire me because they thought I wouldn’t be able to type fast enough

My younger sister gets $805 SSI payment each month.
$80 of that is from the state is a supplement for food.
The state tried to take that away from her saying she did not have a separate kitchen from the house she rents a room in. The owner lives there. Main floor and upstairs each have a full kitchen. The basement opens to back yard.

$80 bucks... the state waste millions on “light rail” and bike lanes and everything else while failing basic stuff like fixing the roads and teaching kids.

She fought with the state and then contacted of all people Al Franken (stole election). The state backed off. She nows has the $80 to use for food.

Well... They are eligable for Section 8 and stuff but Immigrants are first in line. Also, a lot of these places they do put them in are nasty. One person who was a victim of SSI told me of how he was in a section 8 apartment in Vancouver Washington just outside of Portland OR and it wasn't a home, it was a joke. Bed bugs, cockroaches and nasty neighbors. Everyday the police were there, everyday there was drama.

He wasn't allowed to move out. His payee threatened to cut off his allowence if he did. In the end the city of Vancouver condemned the building and kicked everyone out. So he had to wait yet another year or two while Julio and his 8 kids can get everything right away.
